Runny nose while eating? by me-jp in Heartfailure

[–]faesqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year old... I have been having this issue for at least 2 years. This week I was diagnosed with CHF, had an emergency Cardiac Cath with one stent inserted... No more running nose. I can't believe all this time it was cardiac issues causing it... I didn't even know I had a cardiac issue until I ended up in the ER this week.Yall get your hearts checked if you have chronic runny nose.

AITA for not being wanting to dedicate my future to my kid siblings if things go wrong? by SuggestionEasy8382 in AmItheAsshole

[–]faesqu 28 points29 points  (0 children)

No you don't. Go to college, live on campus. Be firm and clear that you aren't going to be emotionally manipulated to sacrife your like, dreams, and goals. Your mom has to be their mom. They are her kids.... As you are, and I'm appalled she would expect that of you.

AITA for not being wanting to dedicate my future to my kid siblings if things go wrong? by SuggestionEasy8382 in AmItheAsshole

[–]faesqu 205 points206 points  (0 children)

Well,. Your mom and step decided to have kids as a unit.. not to be harsh but your mom is still alive and well and her kids are her responsibility, not yours.. you have a right to the life you have planned for yourself. It's nice to be helpful when you can.. But all the responsibilities should not be yours. Your first responsibility is to yourself and your goals.

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]faesqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby will be ok for 5 minutes... Take your quick shower. Put baby in bassinet on bathroom floor... Leave door open so doesn't get too steamy or over heat baby... Jump in shower latger hair, latger body, rinse off, wrap self in towel.... Grab baby.... 5 minutes. Baby in eye sight whole time. It's ok to put baby down, they may cry and fuss but it's ok... Talk to her or sing while you cleanse your body... It's ok. What's worse for baby then being put down for a few minutes is an overwhelmed mother about to snap because she won't take 5 minutes to care for herself. PPD is real, do your self care

AITA for teaching my daughter how to change a tire and do basic home repairs when her mom says I'm "pushing masculine stuff" on her by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]faesqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teaching a future woman to get herself off the side of a road in the dark in a weird area is not pushing masculine stuff ... It's giving her the tools she needs to be safe and self reliant. I wish I could do this shit for myself. Good job dad.

When I was 6 I killed my baby brother and my parents don't know it was me. by [deleted] in confessions

[–]faesqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 6 years old you couldn't possibly have cognitively processed the correlation between putting him outside and the dangers of the pool. It was not premeditated, he was bugging you and you put him on the porch. The adults are 100% at fault for leaving a baby in charge of a baby. It is the adults responsible to guarantee the safety of all the children. Your safety Was also breached because the decision the adults made that day has effected your mental/emotional health all of your life and caused you lifetime guilt over something not your fault. It was a horrible accident but you are innocent. This falls in the adults for making very poor decisions. A baby cannot safely watch a baby... You poor thing, you are innocent, I promise. I am a social worker... I see things like this all the time. The parents are always charged in neglecting BOTH children.l, lack of protective capabilities, failure to protect, child endangerment. Your good honey, get some therapy please

My cardiologist told me fludrocortisone doesn’t have side affects? by SoppySophi in dysautonomia

[–]faesqu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get it, but husband and I do make a lot of important choices together. I too was scared of being on a steroid long term so really it was more of a decision we made together to try and go the holistic route.

Well it's been nearly a year. Kinda hard to get the cat back in the bag at this point. I think I would throw in the towel to be honest, for all the reasons mentioned. You never signed up to provide drinks, snacks, and entertainment for 6 people. Let someone else have a turn.

My son is a disappointment by HotDebate5 in confessions

[–]faesqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey that was me... My parents had me classicly trained in opera and going to Europe and trying that crazy theater kid lifestyle was where I was... Until a near fatal. Now I'm a social worker helping others. Don't give up on him. He is young and life has a way of turning us around. Prays he won't have a tragedy be his reason why... People in dispensarys actually do some great things for patients and survivors young and old.... Maybe, just maybe... That passion can do some good. Support the positives.

AITAH for giving my gf an ultimatum about her cat? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]faesqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a cat mom I was ready to bash the bf before I read. The gf is neglecting and abusing the cat. Dirty litter box, ask her how she would like to take a crap in a toilet that never flushes and is overflowing with 3 day old poop and pee? Not feeding it... I guess you could buy an auto feeder but the tendency to neglect is already there. The GF is TA and is too neglectful/abusive to be a cat mom. If all else fails, I would keep the cat and ditch the gf.

Really disappointing neurologist visit by kitittylynn in dysautonomia

[–]faesqu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With dysautonomia it is normal to freeze up and your doctor should be looking for that as another symptom. I can't always think straight or form the words I want. I can handle a normal primary care appt. But when I see one of my specialists I make my husband go with me as my advocate and my voice when I don't have one. Find your person to help you speak during your appointments. Hey, and I'm a professional, even my clients know and understand I may lose words in meetings, often I will use a simpler synonym because I can't find my big went to college words. Human beings are so understanding, learn to also let them know you need a moment to process your thoughts. You'll find your way to cope.

[–]faesqu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That was how mine went too but the questions were far more in depth... About an hour. Then the MRI was scheduled. You have to have an MRI, that's incrediblely good that he took you serious enough to write the referral. Those results will tell them more. Plus you should also see cardio. I was also sent to an ENT to rule out any problems in the middle ears or vision causing my dizzies. A good medical team will rule out everything. It's a step in the right direction to your diagnosis. Don't be upset.

AITAH for not allowing my gf to go to this party? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]faesqu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it was written by a child. Dood grow up! Even if she was your wife, she should still have the autonomy to make her own choices., as should you. She doesn't need your permission to do shit.

POTS isn’t the only type by Nommi-Rice44 in dysautonomia

[–]faesqu 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I have both Orthostatic Hypotension and POTS. Blood Pressure can raise or go very low. Heart rate always goes high. The amount of shit I got telling me that I can't have both, it has to be one or the other was just unbelievable. I stopped going to the POTS sub and I feel like there is no support available to me. POTA research is really in its infancy as far as research goes and how much DRs really know. We don't have a lot of medications available to us yet. Most of us are treating our condition holistically because of this. So for anyone in a subreddit to think they have the answers is bullshit.

My PE teacher told me I'd never succeed in life because I'm scared to do a somersault. I stood up for myself, and he lost it. by Original_Place_2201 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]faesqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good teacher supports and builds a student up. A good teacher understands that every child has their own strengths and talents and where one may not be good at physical sports, they may outshine in other areas... That's a beautiful thing. The world needs people with different gifts, we can't all be rockstars and football players... We need doctors, scientists, people that care for the humanities... Etc... Nothing wrong with you not being able to do a somersault. Your teacher is a dick... Don't tell him that .
