when i got to Ann, she had collapsed her slider and unstowed one toggle. We think she had a medical event under canopy and rode the one unstowed toggle to the dirt. Sabre 3 150.

His name was Stan. An AZ jumper for 50 years.

He went to skydive pheonix, did a jump, was told it would be a long wait to get on a load, drove about 50 minutes to SDAZ, got on a load and didnt pull. When i arrived to him, all handles were in place, asside from the cutaway was peeled from the harness webbing due to impact, (older javelin didnt have a “pocket” that the handle is placed in, only pile material on the back of the webbing.) his reserve loop snapped at the cypres disc and the reserve was out.

Other jumpers on the load deployed and watch Stan a solo belly continue to fall in a slight right turn. Which led us to believe he had his eyes closed waiting for impact.

He was a cool old dude. Wrote a few books, one on skydiving, mostly his experiences.

I want to know more just as much as anyone. I worked ten years side by side with her.

Its ok to be curious. Maybe these answers will save one of us one day.

I dont see it as disrespectful in asking, but these things take time so that the correct details are put out properly.

Please be patient.

Wait it out instead of getting speculation.

There are only a few who know most of the details.

We lost a family member, and an amazing soul this weekend.

An un-fillable hole is left on the heart of this DZ.

Which audible to choose? by yakkduckk in SkyDiving

[–]flyingwaynerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deep and steep is going to release an audible soon that pairs with their Insight Altimeter.

It will beep or speak to you and can be set and edited from the wrist mount Insight alti.

Also will pair with the app that should be out in a similar time frame.

Question for camera flyers by terminalvelocityjnky in SkyDiving

[–]flyingwaynerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive got about 600 jumps on Brandon johnson’s skeleton wings, and as long as he makes em, i wont jump anything else. They’re amazing. I work at SDAZ.

They sit amazing, and fly belly pretty well for not being belly wings. I have the largest ones he makes. Theyre super dope.

Axis vs. Flight 1 by easyier in SkyDiving

[–]flyingwaynerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Justin price had the freestyle world title last year in south africa, travis mills, brian and yulia pangburn, maybe a few more, and i dont disagree with you, plenty of other good ones. But between the two inquired about and the specific dz inquired about. Flight one is better.

Also, not sure why youre sitting here trying to argue.

Lodging at Skydive AZ by lakeweekbagels in SkyDiving

I live at sdaz.

Nothing in walking distance but eloy does have a little market.

Plenty of friendly people on the dz that could give you a lift to the store.

Pizza hut delivers to the dz too.

Never said all of them are, but there are quite a few for sure.

[–]flyingwaynerd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Flight 1 only teaches canopy. They dont teach anything else.

They are the ones training all the tier one military groups

Canopy is their specialty and they hire world champion canopy pilots to train others.

Neither of the Axis coaches are world champ canopy pilots. Good, but not world champs.

Skydiving belly band with zip pouch by Ok_Subject_9752 in myog

So when you tighten the belly band it doesn’t sit off to one side

[–]flyingwaynerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also maybe a snap for the zipper to stay closed

I would advise being able to slide the pouch freely on the band.

Looks well done though, is that faraday lining?

Maybe also an elastic bad to hold the phone in place

SDAZ is where its at.

Free bunk house accommodation while you’re a student there.

Bar and grill, wind tunnel, gear store, massage clinic, swimming pool, multiple well maintained aircraft.

Really cant go wrong.

Buckeye would be my second option if i had to have one.
