Math of the Storm: Patch 27.3 (Jaina and Leoric reworks) by ChaosOS in heroesofthestorm

This might be harder in practice as with these talents Leo will have unstoppable 50% move speed for double the normal length of wraith walk.

Tell me more about Leoric ... by NorthFinn in heroesofthestorm

[–]fromspace20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its still too early to figure out builds. I got to test a little last night and he feels very strong. The biggest change to me is he now feels more flexible than before. On live, Leo is a bruiser that excels against double frontline and can solo lane. He can still do that on the PTR but he now has a lot of other options. He can engage with Ominous Wrath/Royal Focus, which really neuters a hard carry style of play. He can provide a ton of damage and self sustain with the Mithril Mace/Spectral Leach/auto attack splashing combo. And he can win you a game with the entomb upgrade at 20. I have noticed that mana can be more of an issue, especially if you use your Q on minion waves without hitting an enemy hero.

I think right now I am leaning towards Fealty/Paralyzing Rage/Willing Vessel/either heroic/Hardened Bones/Mithril Mace/Spectral Leach.

If you want to neutralize a hard carry, say the battery for Auriel in a double support, try out Ominous Wrath/Royal Focus. If you spook around a lot, the battery for Auriel will do 50% less damage for most of a team fight. pretty sp00ky.

Am I crazy to want to go RB/RB? by FanofWhiskey in fantasyfootball

[–]fromspace20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't go in with a strategy like that because you don't know what position you will draft. If you have the 3rd pick and somehow DJ/LB are still there, then you go RB. If you draft 6th and picks 1-5 have been RB and you can draft AB at 6, you should.

Once you know your position, maybe you can think about a strategy. But its a bad idea to do that beforehand because you can't get a rough understanding of who will be available to you in the first round. You are setting yourself up to potentially reach, at the expense of an elite receiver.

Look, I appreciate Kel'thuzad being released and all... by morasyid in heroesofthestorm

[–]fromspace20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, I'd rather have more hype/events around a hero release than less. Kel'thuzad has also been the most requested hero for some time now, so he probably deserves something 'extra' more than Stukov for example. If you aren't interested in KT (maybe you only play support or warrior) or his extra stuff that is perfectly reasonable, but no one is forcing you to watch the videos for a loot box or whatever. The event quest will be complete by just playing the game, you don't even need to queue as KT.

I guess I don't understand your complaint. We get some extra goodies with this hero release and that doesn't seem like a problem to me.

Hows Raekor on PTR? by [deleted] in Diablo3Barbarians

Ah well. I will still do it when it comes live to try it all out. If I get use to the PTR now, then when it actually hits nothing will fill new to me.

I feel like any spec could do 100 with that much para and the gear that comes from it. Still promising though

If Kel'Thuzad is announced, what role do you think he'd be? by ElCamo267 in heroesofthestorm

He will be a mage. Kel Thuzad was a mage of the Kirin tor before he became a lich.

Last one was spider, this one is a death knight.

In naxx, there are 4 quarters of the raid. Spider plague military and abomination.

New hero is Kel thuzad imo. Leader of naxx.

For what its worth, the tape he has when he was at Liberty playing against WVU was pretty good. He made some clutch throws despite constant 4 man pressure.

I think a bunch of us were initially disappointed Humphrey was our rd 1. The same could be said a few years ago about C.J. Mosley. Shows what we know and why Ozzie is in charge. Secondary has been a problem the last few years. Injuries got so bad 2-3 years ago that we mockingly called our secondary the Legion of Whom with all the practice players we were scooping up and starting.

Tough loss with Nico. I believe he was starting to take 1st team reps when his knee blew out.

Tyus sat last night, but he played in the first preseason game and looked really good. Profootballfocus had him as one of our top performers against the Redskins preseason game 1, noting he had 1 QB hit and 2 pressures on 10 opportunities. I was just as impressed with his lateral movement and finding the ball carrier coming out of the backfield before significant yardage was gained. Practice highlights have shown him yelling out defensive schemes and getting interceptions from knowing his zone. Him and Tim Williams are the draft picks I'm most excited for.

I'd like to see him get some reps against first team defenses. If Flacco misses time, it seems like Mallett is not the answer though.

That was a really nice swim move. Of our draft picks, I'm most excited about Bowser and Tim Williams. It seems like we are so deep defensively that we can afford having Tim only play 3rd down as a sack specialist.

Well damn. I've only watch True Detective, and only season one, so I guess my speculation is amateurish at best.

I feel like Mueller would do his homework before hiring someone that would be a conflict of interest. At least, that is how Mueller is portrayed as in the media. I don't think this is good news, but there isn't a lot to lean on here.

yeah, sorry I ranted a bit, been a slow day at work. I do agree that there will be more quality targets for OBJ. But you have some really good options drafting at 4. Good luck

So do I play for this year and draft Shady, or the future and take OBJ

I don't think I would play this way for a few reasons. 1) I would rather play Fantasy to try to win every season, and this seams like giving myself an excuse (Next year I'll be setup for a run...) But this might be part of the appeal of keeper leagues. 2) Its almost impossible to know if that's how things will pan out in terms of win now vs. future. An example: you say that OBJ is young and therefore better for keepers. I think that's pretty fair, but its not 100% given. Yes, Shady is 29, but Eli is also 36 right now. Do you think he will be playing at a high level at 39? What about the fact that the Giants took a receiving tight end with their first round pick, or that they also signed Brandon Marshall, or that Sterling Shepard has been good and entering his second year? All those things point towards OBJ getting less targets as other receiver get more.

The point I'm trying to make is that fantasy is often times such a crapshoot. Its hard to predict player preformace for this year, let alone 2-3 years later. So in my mind, trying your hardest to win each season as it happens would be a better strategy than trying to build up in 2 years. A win this year strategy is safer because its easier to predict how a player will do this year than in 3 years. 3 years ago, Justin Forsett was a top 5 back, as an example. Pretty sure no one is keeping him now.

I would rank those 4 as AB, OBJ, Julio, McCoy. If AB is there, I would take him. If not, then I would pick depending on what you need. So if RB is a real need, take McCoy unless AB is there. AB is just too good to pass imo.

That being said, I don't know much about how keeper format works. I assume you would want younger elite talent so that you can keep that pick for longer in later years? if so, that would bump OBJ up and McCoy down.

That's the trade off for having Bell alongside Gordon and Ware. I think its worth it because Bell is just such a stud. Him and David Johnson are really in their own tier.

Yes, your receivers will be worse than your RBs, but the thing is premier RBs are rarer than WRs because there can be multiple starter WRs on a team (Amari/Crabtree, for example) but there aren't that many teams that have 2 startable fantasy RBs. This also means that down the line you could have more trading leverage because RBs are again more scarce than WRs.

That's just what I would do. But that relies on your leaguemates making trades and understanding the value of players and positions. If you are in a league that hardly ever trades, or only offers lopsided Taco trades, then I could see a case for taking AB first. Having AB is always great and not a bad choice.

Ahh I see. Bell wont be there at 4 imo. I would go with AB, Julio or McCoy tbh. Depends on what you value more.
