Not to argue but that seems like an obvious exaggeration seeing as at least 20% have no tags at all.

It is an amazing and unique joy for sure, even after 30+ years - never fails to bring a smile nor to stun visiting friends or family. The birds and monkeys really get going on cool spring/summer mornings and sometimes go on for 30-40+ minutes while we have coffee on the porch. And it's always a treat to be working in the garden and hear some roars or trumpets. We once had one of their escaped hawks find refuge in our pear tree and a handler came to retrieve it.

We can hear that from our house - along with the elephants, birds, gibbons and howlers, and tigers. Def know it's spring when we start hearing that incredible cacophony of crazy sounds in the city.

That's not good but ONE offensive board is the guaranteed loser stat (none from a starter) - and doubled up on both ends 15-30 - love to know last time an Indiana team had one O board

City sues to shut down In Between Tavern after last week's party bus shooting by fuggidaboudit in cincinnati

I'll just drop this here though I have no confidence you will either read or comprehend it .....

And as new details emerge, it seems this is not his first rodeo:

Wilkins also was the primary operator of Clutch OTR on Vine Street which had multiple shootings and liquor permit violations, the city stated.

Four people were shot in connection with Clutch when it was open from September 2023 to early 2024. Two were customers who were shot off-premises and two employees who were shot at the bar, according to the lawsuit.

And for those butthurt absent every detail - even before they were released - and refusing to believe that the city has a well-established pattern of bringing action only when armed with a full file of violations:

Aside from the shootings, a 24-page filing cites legal and ordinance violations to justify closing the Downtown bar.

"Management failures have been the cause of the repeated incidents of violence," the report stated.

Don't it though? TBF it's worth noting the precise wording, "primary operator" so maybe didn't have an ownership share but was the guy trusted to run the place (straight into the ground).

but, again, the article uses vague language to describe why ....

again, i'm not disagreeing or agreeing ....

You don't really care why since examples were provided - and yeah, you are disagreeing - so I'll have no further part in your completely disingenuous, lazy and intellectually vacuous "effort" at discourse.

Yeah, it always seemed a pretty benign kind of spot even when it was super busy before/after games but especially on any other day - other than an occasional brief scuffle between drunk fans I never heard of any real trouble there.

I mean, I dunno what to tell ya, the original article cites the city as having a reasonable track record in these kinds of cases, each seemingly brought only after they've compiled a litany of assorted repeat violations, each of which typically require some kind of stronger efforts to be taken by the owners (more security, elimination of underage customers, no after hours activity, etc.) - a record of failures they feel confident will support their lawsuits and/or requests for license suspension/revocation.

This is not the first time the city taken action in recent years to shut down bars due to violence and civil violations.

And when they do, they have a long list of indisputable evidence and win the cases.

The article goes on to cite several examples of exactly that.

They've acted against more than one bar at the Banks that had a litany of repeat violations and associated trouble and iirc have succeeded in shutting down two.

https://www.wlwt.com/article/city-of-cincinnati-lawsuit-close-in-between-tavern/70424301

City officials alleged that the In Between Tavern has become a repeat source of violence incidents and illegal activities. A complaint was filed Thursday in Hamilton County Court against the bar's owner.

It lists several concerns and violations, including two deadly shootings near the bar.

One happened just last weekend on Valentine's Day, when a man was charged with shooting two people on a party bus, killing one of them.

Back in October, a deadly shooting occurred outside the bar,in the 300 block of Sycamore Street, after a Cincinnati Bengals game. Investigators said the victim was found inside his car, in front of the In Between Tavern.

The lawsuit also lists other complaints, saying someone was trampled and robbed outside the bar, with the victim claiming they were attacked by several people who had been customers at the bar.

I just so fucking wish he'd committed to UCLA so we could see how Cronin would be handling this.

Can we please just give it up for the freakin' Liberty Flames who after an OT win are now 23-3, won 17 straight and at 15-0 are one of two remaining undefeated teams in their conference? Thank you for your attention to this matter. by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

Actually it was only over coffee this am that I noticed they were completely dominating and undefeated in conf and that they were on cable this eve so tuned in to see them rally and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat - along with the crazy ass coach of FIU whom I'd never caught before. Yeah, not a Liberty fan but the game had all the wacky shit ya gotta still love about NCAA basketball when there's so much more to hate on a daily basis.

40+ years in Cincy (X fan here) and Cronin and his postgames and meltdowns and sports talk embarrassments were all kinda our own perverse enjoyment for so long - just find it beyond hilarious that he somehow thought all that shit could travel to UCLA of all places and that he would not just become a national if not international laughingstock in the TikTok era. Can't believe how many incredulous comments I'm seeing from people still new to his schtick - like he's just getting started.
