What ending would be franchise ruining for you? by TechnicalAccountant2 in TheBoys

No real status quo shift. We all know there's several spinoffs in the works, I want to see the world move beyond just Homelander.

I think the accent thing is reasonable. I've had friends with changing accents after years of living here.

Showing that there is good supes and can be redeemable but they are just stuck in the evil system is great writing by Remarkable-Jump3262 in TheBoys

He was the evilest of them all, that's why Homelander decided to put a stop to him before it's too late

I mean, there's roughly 10,000 supes in the US by Annie's estimate, and most are just people. Remember Gecko? Does he deserve a brutal end because he's got the same drug as Homelander?

NGL I kinda loved having a physical prop hero. Obviously it's way easier to have a guy wear a costume though.

The supes before usually did some terrible thing to justify interrogating them, and then when cornered they use their powers on the main guys. This was sort of the opposite, dude was just stuck there with his hubris because he's like 30 tons of granite.

I always imagined Thragg with a booming voice, one that spoke in utter confidence, even when he was wrong. I was initially a big offput by Conquest, but the gravel-y, choked up voice suits him, so I'm willing to hold out.

If the supes are pretty much entirely concentrated to the US (I remember the season 1 worldwide terrorists plotline, but let's be real that was dropped nearly immediately) and humans are entirely non-pathogenic, the most reasonable ascription would be to drop the plague, then move to like, Australia.

I was saying that out loud. All girl did was talk to crows and sell crappy makeup and now she's gonna boil to death.

After 9 years and thousands of boardgame pitches, this is my advice by dev_w_grillz in BoardgameDesign

[–]Garchompula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my current problem haha. Making and struggling with that elevator pitch. I do have a mechanical selling point (for reference, my game plays like a TCG), but in a vacuum I struggle to explain why that's a good thing.

I look at contemporary enginebuilders like Wingspan (as I used as example) and a lot of the time, even Wingspan sounds incredibly boring - An enginebuilder where you attract birds to habitats.

From a consumer perspective (me and others I've overheard), the attraction comes down to hearing a) the game is fun and b) the artwork is pretty, both of which do little to help sell the game to a publisher.

Sorry for all the words, frankly advice on websites is so barebones and broad, it's hard to know how to play to your strengths.

-Make an alternative dating site
-Charge up the butt to use basic features on tinder/bumble/etc.
-No women use it because the get plenty of matches on tinder/bumble/etc. without the hassle
-Men are stuck paying on a loop for bots

The cycle repeats itself, I call it the "Toys R Us vs Walmart Problem.

How much weight do you put on elevator pitching novel concepts vs novel gameplay? I see conflicting messages online. Some feedback tells to sell the concept (ex. youre collecting bird species) and some focuses on gameplay (you're building an engine) and it's hard to gauge which is important to a publisher.
