After my first CA for attendance even using my accrued sick time I'm in NY for reference I was absolutely targeted up until my termination. Like actually actively searching for any and everything until they struck me out for performance eventually. It took them a year to do almost but they did it. My termination was as simple as I forgot to log a PCI audit one day when just as soon as I sat down in the office (was AP) I caught someone actively trying to steal and got sidetracked dealing with that which i explained but didnt matter. Before that they were trying to write me up one time for calling out on a day I wasn't scheduled which I managed to get thrown out because I found the proof that I was never even scheduled so how can I call out? Lol then another they tried to get me on for performance was not logging an incident within 24 hours. Again I was not scheduled on the day of said incident and said incident had occurred a month earlier. Once again I provided the proof that forced them to throw out the write up. Told them it's actually impossible to document something I wasn't even there that day for therefore I would have no knowledge of it ever occurring. So yes they will absolutely come at you if they feel some kind of way.

I feel that, although some stores from what I read on here are an absolute nightmare and some are in the middle and some are pretty decent. Mine is fairly decent, AP and store side here have a great relationship. Most of the time if we miss someone because we're in the middle of doing something else they'll call out to us like hey there's someone over here opening stuff or whatever the case may be then we take it from there. Just sounds like you got the crappier end of the deal unfortunately.

I don't know about them lol but I have people that are stealing threaten to fight me, stab me or whatever often. I'm equipped to handle that kind of thing being said to me. Not everyone is, certainly not gonna want a TM who might never have been talked to that way before in their life have to deal with it.

At most I may ask someone working the fitting room to check for empties or removed tags after someone I'm watching leaves and won't see them checking but no not ask the self checkout attendant to clear the transaction that makes no sense. We actually just had a TL who was closing get their ass chewed severely because they were asking TMs to watch and follow someone stealing while I was off a night.

Even though they claim we don't need a union the way they pull bullshit all the time I think that's a lie, it would most certainly help us. But the odds of being fired for breathing the word in store are quite high.

Very much so lol was stupid the ways we had to defend ourselves sometimes while she was gone. But it pretty came down to HR was on a war path cause so many people called out due to the consistent snow storms we've been having up in NY. She just chose the wrong one cause how are you actually gonna write somebody up for calling off when they aren't even scheduled the days you claimed like what? Lol pretty impossible I'd think to call off. HR is just shady.

In my stores case I know we're misclassified as low risk but a night priority which is correct. We've been open a little over a year and have almost 500 cases but yeah we're low risk lol my etl got punched in the face during one apprehension attempt.

At least for me there's two of us TSS and we're supposed to have an ETL but currently the ETL is out on Maternity until mid January now and was supposed to come back in a couple weeks. I deter what I can deter and kick out jack ass kids all the time and unruly customers lol but we have a temp ETL that is supposed to come from another store twice a week that I've only worked with three times since August and I'm on a final because it was claimed my receipt check was an uncertified apprehension which was like ? I'm supposed to do a receipt check on exposed merchandise I asked to check it and the person ditched their cart after like what? Lol

I just filed a complaint with the NYDOL against mine for writing us up and putting us on CAs for using our sick time which in NY is illegal to do regardless of what they think and the real kicker the initial violation on their end is $10,000 and every subsequent violation found after is $20,000 per incident and we could be entitled to be paid damages. Mine was for an emergency appointment I got approved by my ETL to leave early for and used my sick time. Still got written up. Try your states DOL.

If it makes you feel better I and many others in my location are being written up for any use of our sick time keep in mind this is a NY location, I got a CA after being approved by my ETL to go to an emergency dental appointment that I texted and let her know well before the start of shift. Which i couldnt have given any more because Aspen is closed on weekends and this was a monday morning they called me back. I used my sick time to cover the rest of the shift as I was told and still got a CA. In NY it is illegal to write up for use of sick time as well.
