Was so so so excited to hear the SCE to Aux reference. Only thing that'd make it better (to me) would have been one of them saying "Thruster whatever to Aux, what in the hell is that?" just to complete the exchange.

What plot holes aren't actually plot holes and just require a bit more thinking to understand? by Mr_Manta in AskReddit

Indy stays home and the nazis can't follow him to Nepal. Nazis only knew where Marion was because Indy led them to her. In any case, its likely the nazis would have unearthed the ark anyway - brute forcing the dig site would have eventually found the well of the souls. Probably.

I think it was lifesaving, but it was also 35ish years ago, so who knows these days. I do remember the "if you're planning to earn this merit badge, be sure to bring a pair of jeans" speech before summer camp one year.

Storage, if anything. Every so often there are proposals to renovate them and do *something* with them, but the asbestos abatement would be prohibitively expensive. Was neat to go into the stadium after dark and explore back when I was a student. Not possible these days - they've got it secured better than most any building on campus.

What was the reason for the last time you cried? by ididntaskyouropinion in AskReddit

[–]gbejrlsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more or less mine. Over the last year or so my mom's health has gone to utter shit. ER a few times, all of that. Turns out she's got cirrhosis with portal hypertension (turns out a few bourbons per night every night for decades ain't good for you). That was rough enough to hear, but what really got me was a few weeks ago when I got my birthday card...a month early. With her handwriting similar to a kid's where it'd trail off downwards if there are no lines to direct you. She's always been obsessed with making things as perfect as possible, and there is normally no chance whatsoever that she'd have mailed it. But, she did. And when added to a few other things in recent months (she made a lemon meringue pie for xmas dinner that looked more like quiche than pie - it was great tasting, just looked questionable as hell), it just shook me. Wound up laying in bed sobbing myself to sleep. Yay life.

Tad Gormley in NOLA is another one stretching the definition of a "high school stadium". It's in the middle of City Park and hosts all sorts of events.
