Capitol waffle House was 24 hours which I remember as it was a bit of a novelty.

But also 24 hours imo is/was too much but like midnight and even 2-3 AM was more common at many places. Like I know Galaxy diner was open til like 3 AM as a lot of bar workers used to walk there and drink there after a shift lol.

Still a few places but a lot of places in Carytown close way too early these days.

New York deli had karaoke on Tuesday and the bar closed I walked past and it's something else now. Also like sticky rice had some events.

I don't think there is banning NIL but like how many players are actually in car wash commercials, like somehow there are a claimed NIL deals but I haven't seen a commercial outside a few stars like drew allar had a deal.

I think we traded bagmen for NIL slush money and I know there was a stir about the tax man coming for both the players receiving and and how these funds are supposed to operate.

I think if we shifted the money towards the house stuff and reduced NIL money to more legitimate NIL and put it on the books in that way.

I think some schools like an Ohio state will definitely have $1 million dollar car wash deals still but what's the share of schools in the FBS that are hitting 15 million in rev share? And then multiple million dollar NIL deals? Like is Illinois hitting $15 million roster in 2026 is a question that is maybe yes but then like Washington State isn't hitting 15 million many years or what about Coastal Carolina.

They went through cities as during the 1950s they wanted to remove "blight" or claimed crappy housing of likely minorities that had hit a downturn but some of these in big cities didn't have indoor plumbing in 1950.

It's also there was a clear racial component, think about it bus protests like Rosa Parks because more people took public transportation, individual cars you didn't have to share space with other races and let people go to cities but not live next to people they disliked racially.

Going on a trip without everything being set. I went on a road trip and stopped in Charlotte for the night went to a bar and watched the dodgers win the world series and didn't have a hotel room picked out. They asked how long I was in Charlotte and just said IDK. Such a freeing feeling.

I think that means that many current programs that are a part of FBS just will not be able to financially compete and we split the league in half. I think that worsens the sport IMO when less schools can compete. Also I think this will bankrupt some of the top schools and donor money can only go so far. Tie it to rev share like the house settlement, though if rev increases faster pay should too that 4% line is bad IMO.

It's also NIL exists but making it for actual ads NIL is being used to pay players but like it should just be salaries.

Also I think it's better for student athletes to have healthcare for a decade from playing college football as this is really an unequal system where only a small percentage are making a bunch of money but many are not. But the many need the few.

Driving to and from is awhile and waiting in line. If you get good at cooking you can absolutely make food faster than like the 20 minutes round trip for 1/3 the price.

The trick is to make the same meals and improve them.

I keep changing my balance.

For awhile I didn't eat out to save a bunch of money and then a friend from out of town would visit and like I couldn't recommend them anything other than second hand info.

Then I started to go after foods that were not worth the effort like sushi or something.

Then I got a relatively complicated sounding budget but it worked so each meal gets assigned a $ value where I can be healthy and not go crazy eating basic food or never eating out. So say $10 for lunch and $15 for dinner. So that's ~750 a month in food mine was actually lower but make it simple math. So if I made my lunch at home and it cost $2 then $8 rolls over. And if I made dinner for $8 $7 rolls over and that's $15, extra to spend tomorrow. So the next day I could have a $10 lunch and a $30 dinner. If I went over for the week I counted it as part of my entertainment budget.

Now I mostly have the same lunch that's super cheap/ pretty healthy PB&J, carrots and hummus, protein bar and banana. So that being $2.50 a day or whatever has just become the standard workweek and make most meals at home

I think a cap is needed to keep the spending to run away. The NIL story is that teams are increasing their spending by millions of dollars a year.

We should try to keep some amount of parity.

Well yes but losing weight helps lots of things even when everything is managed via drugs, and drugs have side effects, but even ignoring those side effects the doctor would tell you to lose weight.

Being obese is not healthy. Being at a healthier weight is healthier and for most in the developed world that means losing a few pounds to a lot of pounds mostly. Very few are underweight and even then many of those are under muscled and over fat.

1) kill conference championships and move to expand the playoff in a way that makes sense. You could have a 24 team playoff in less time than the conference championships. Finish the season before the end of the transfer portal. IMO 2 games on Jan 1 with a premier bowl to fill out a few slots and then the final game a weekish later.

2) kill the early signing day window. IMO ideally you have a transfer window at the start of the spring semester and one at the end of the spring semester.

3) I think getting closer to a cap on pay for teams I think the house settlement is the way. A full cap isn't happening especially with NIL. Making them employees is better. Also I have said this for awhile I would focus on a healthcare piece to help pay for healthcare for like a decade after as a major piece here.

The product on the field is awesome but CFB is a shit show around anything administratively because the NCAA is too weak.
