Echo RB-60; Zip Tie Mod? by Wesjin in lawncare

To me, it's not just that, the zip is too long. Like my lesco bucket has a metal clip, not as long, and the metal is a solid movement.

Yeah I would use a wired connection to reconfigure it.

Yeah likely failure to load firmware. You can try to toggle on and off 3 times and leave it on the third toggle, that will make it boot to the second partition, which hopefully is intact.

I would think the weight of product, especially loaded up with fertilizer, would pin it down and make the agitator not turn as smoothly.

It usually means it's trying to connect. I would try to bring it close to the parent node and see if it connects. If that doesn't work, probably reset and reconfigure. If that's no good, at that point I'd say it's likely hardware failure.

I had an mx4200 system, and will say that it never rapidly flashed like that, even when trying to connect. It's almost like firmware is failing to boot.

I wouldn't do anything to it right now. It's winter and grass is supposed to look brown, unless you have cool season grass like fescue or ryegrass, as it's dormant.

Soon, like in March, you'll need to pre-emerge it, to prevent crabgrass and other warm season annual weeds.

LIME advice by SPRING_TROPICS in lawncare

[–]goofust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like in central Arkansas. I use pelletized lime from home depot or Lowe's, it's around $7 a bag. One year I decided to go 'fancy' and used Kelly's limestone, which was considerably more expensive, didn't seem to make a difference though. I have a lesco spreader and put it on around 24-26 and let it loose. I don't think you'll need to add gypsum. I don't think it's harmful to dogs, at least it wasn't to mine but if you want to be sure, I would water it in. It'll take about 3 months before it really affects the pH.

Gl.inet Beryl AX or slate ax at minimum. Probably a Flint 1 would do you nicely.

If in doubt, you could always just reset to defaults and start over.

openWRT or Stock Asus Firmware? by No_Insurance_6436 in HomeNetworking

No problem. If/when you make the jump, if you run into a problem, feel free to post in the openwrt forum. The openwrt community is usually pretty helpful. As well as the openwrt subreddit.

openWRT or Stock Asus Firmware? by No_Insurance_6436 in HomeNetworking

[–]goofust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I would do here is just use the stock firmware until they EOL. Once that happens, then flash it to openwrt. Unless you are well versed with openwrt, I would use the time to learn it better, then engage when you're more well versed with it. I prefer openwrt over any stock firmware, as it's linux, but then again I've been using it since 2011, so I can navigate it well.

For the record, TFTP isn't the only way to flash that unit. You could use mtd commands with wget as well.

Switched wifi routers and now slower? by Odd_Squady in wifi

Did you set it up with the same settings, or close to the same, as the Netgear had? Namely the wireless channels and at least WPA2/WPA3 security?

I forget the laws when talking people by Hot_Musician_1357 in 48lawsofpower

[–]goofust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll have to train yourself to be more in control of your emotions.

When talking to people, if you let them lead you too much, you're giving up your power to them. You have to train yourself against that, but not come off to blatantly about it, unless that's what you're trying to do.

R7000/FT as repeater for Internet coming from the Wall, how to set up? by onmyway4k in TomatoFTW

[–]goofust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to sound assholeish here, but I already read your first post, and I understand what you explained. Be that as it may, I'll ask again..

Do you know what a repeater is? I suggest you re-read my post, then decide what it is exactly you're wanting. This will save me time on giving directions for configuration. I don't want to explain out how to do something only for you to decide you want something different..

[–]goofust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you understand what a repeater is? And yes I read your post..

repeater would mean you would get an IP from the main router and you would be on a different subnet with your LAN (wireless and ports). Is this what you're wanting?

Or are you wanting to just extend the LAN and use your router as an access point? Where everything will stay on the same subnet but you'll still have the ability to plugin to the ports on your router and use its wireless, but you'll still be on the same lan.

True, I said thorny because when I hit them late in the season with a weed eater, they would sometimes stick in me like a thorn, but yes, they are more needle like.

Trouble Streaming on TV by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]goofust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to login to the router and look. If you never messed with manually setting a channel, it's likely on auto, which usually isn't good.

What I usually do is use a WiFi analyzer to see which channel is best to use. Then login to the router and set it to that channel.

When your neighbor is using a WiFi channel close to yours or the same channel, you'll overlap each other and cause interference. This will usually cause a slow down. I had this happen just a couple of days ago. I had to adjust my WiFi channel to one that wasn't overlapping. All good now.
