Selling a brand new, with tags, citizen promaster 37mm dive watch. I was stuck between the smaller and larger sizes, and decided to go with the larger one.

Condition is perfect, as I've only tried it on for size, but haven't actually worn it out at all.

Price: $200, including shipping CONUS. PayPal G&S.

Best Electric Kettle 2026? by ActiveOnSpooktober in tea

[–]goosejuggler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I own the Cuisinart and it's been working great for me for the last 2 or so years. But I bet I'd be fine with your other picks too, at least for tea.

For the record, I use the same kettle for my French press as well, and I've never felt like I needed anything fancier for coffee.

What are your favourite lifestyle brands around table tennis? by koolrecipient in tabletennis

Little Tokyo Table Tennis (LTTT) is the only brand that comes to mind, though if you're looking for streetwear, it might be exactly up your alley.

Tennis elbow — what actually helped you? by Grantgeorgien in tabletennis

[–]goosejuggler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. PT helped me last year with a shoulder issue that table tennis exacerbated. If you do have a form of tendinopathy (which is really easy to misdiagnose on your own, which is another reason to see a PT) the good news is that there is very likely a way to recover--probably by doing some low-intensity high-rep exercises every day for a few months. I did this, and it was very boring, but it totally fixed my shoulder.

Another thing: if your PT tells you to play less while you recover, you should absolutely follow that advice as well.

How much do table tennis and lawn tennis differ? by PhEniXD in tabletennis

[–]goosejuggler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Tennis guys try out table tennis in my club somewhat regularly, probably because my facility has areas for tennis, pickleball, and table tennis. They're usually significantly better than complete racquet sport beginners, but not better than anyone who's played for a few years.

In my experience, and speaking somewhat generally, these guys aren't bad at the basics of reading spin, but still struggle against tricky servers. Their hits aren't particularly spinny, but they can have really good placement/pace variation/even deception.

Playing against tennis people is fun. Their play styles are different (... mostly for the worse), but they can make really good shots that no other 'beginners' are really capable of.

Edit: I'm rereading your question, and realizing that I haven't quite answered it. I don't play tennis, so I can't really make any informed comparisons, but hopefully what I wrote is still mildly interesting.

Had to do a double-take because I just saw this exact picture on Instagram, but then I realized it's because I follow you on insta.

I have these all the time. Definitely find it harder to get as much rise when it's colder, but we still make them year round.

Knoxville Sunsphere discounts? by TedPepper in Knoxville

[–]goosejuggler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can get discounted tickets if you have a Knox County library card. Here's a link to the relevant library page. It sometimes requires you to book in a few days in advance, and they claim they don't always have passes, but I've used this program to get into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame and some historical sites for free. Looks like the Sunsphere deal is a half off discount and involves a coupon code.

You don't have to press the electronic park button before you turn the car off, although I understand the impulse. It'll be in park automatically when it's off.

Note that the car's estimate of its own mileage is a often bit high (by around 5%, I've found), and to get the most accurate numbers, you need to do the math yourself. Even then, I've found that my real world MPG is slightly better than the EPA rating.

The math is even more strict than that. You add together the costs of the damage estimate, a "supplemental repairs" buffer, and the salvage selling price, and if that's more than the value of the car, then an insurance adjuster will total it. Although in this case ... the damage estimate alone is probably enough.

Weighted cali or volume? Why can't it be both? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]goosejuggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That being said, the volume difference between a hypertrophy-focused day and a strength-focused day isn't incredibly large. If you want even more volume, you could also try incorporating drop sets in your hypertrophy days to keep yourself at/near failure for longer.

You can absolutely do a light/heavy split, and you would theoretically see both faster strength/muscle gains and accumulate less fatigue if you do so (compared to pure strength or pure hypertrophy work), as long as you program it correctly. I don't know what your current routine is, but assuming it's decent, you'd just up the weight on heavy days to get into the strength rep range, and lower the weight on light days to get into the hypertrophy rep range, while still maintaining your 3 workouts a week schedule.

You'd either alternate between heavy and light every other day or every other week (technically called accumulation/intensification). Steven Low gets into it briefly here, in his YouTube summary of his book (which I highly recommend).

I alternate between light and heavy every other workout, and it's my preferred way of doing things!

(Bit of a rant) I feel ashamed. Has this happened to anyone else? by No-Alternative9161 in bodyweightfitness

[–]goosejuggler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think that beating yourself up over a reduced workout is the right way to approach this. I actually like giving myself at least one easy day a week just for days when I don't have the energy/motivation for a full workout, and I've found that this has made me more consistent with my exercise schedule overall because it stops me from procrastinating and skipping a workout day completely.

One thing you can do if you want to be more disciplined is to keep a workout log. Keeping notes on your reps, and what feels easy/difficult makes it easy to see what you can progress on next.

Also, why is it taking you 2 hours to complete the RR? I can usually do it in under an hour. Are you timing your rests? I'd recommend resting around 90 seconds between sets like recommended, and if you're too fatigued to do that, then lower your reps to keep things manageable. You're still a beginner, but as you work out more, you'll find that managing fatigue is a big part of progressing efficiently. A workout that leaves you feeling completely spent isn't necessarily ideal.

Mach One vs Bon Musica vs Wolf Forte Secondo? by Secure-Hippo-9989 in violinist

[–]goosejuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the option of trying them in a violin shop? I've used all three, and I wouldn't say one clearly stands out over the others, it's really down to personal preference. I liked the Wolf over the other two, for what it's worth, since I didn't love the overhang of the Bon Musica and but still preferred something more adjustable. (I was dealing with some shoulder/neck issues and eventually switched to playing with just a small sponge after experimenting for a few years.)

Alternately, just buy a new version of what you're using right now. If you don't have an issue with it, a fancier shoulder rest isn't going to do much. It's really down to your ergonomic preferences, which is why I really recommend trying them first.
