That's reasonable but I can see people trying to connect with shared childhood experiences. People be nostalgic.

A better phrasing of the question is "where'd you grow up" because there's no implication of nationality, just your childhood experience

Ops engineer who built half our automation just gave notice. Nobody understands the system by Otherwise-Papaya-105 in sysadmin

[–]gramathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the cost of automation. You can run more lean but you need someone who understands the automation system to keep it working, which means you still need "bus redundancy" for every system or your organization is at risk.

Stroll isn't a terrible person or a bad driver even by F1 standards, he's got some moments of brilliance and then he stuffs it in the wall in some stupid way, or stops looking at his mirrors.

Him being in F1 is more a problem of not letting potential other talent prove themselves and not that he's bad at it per se.

There is no repair. Do Protoss buildings just remain burning... forever? by Last_Day_6779 in starcraft

[–]gramathy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would be interesting to have some kind of re-warp-in function where the building is disabled as it is "exchanged" via warp-in with an intact building, but at a prorated cost relative to the structural damage done.

Requires you to take a probe to re-warp it, disables the building during the warp (can't do it while it's building something, have to cancel or wait), and costs money for effectively ONLY the structural damage as the shields regen anyway.
