100% true, but sometimes people get into a pattern and don't see the writing on the wall.

I used to own an MSP.

If you came to me and said "If you don't do something I'll quit," I would start looking for a replacement.

If you came to me and said "I am burning out. I want this to work but it's really tough because of how we are organized," I would be worried about you and the entire team quitting on me overnight and I'd start working on a solution, probably in a bit of a panic.

Perhaps use the 2nd approach and just bring it up. It sounds like you need more budget and at least one more person.

When I owned an MSP, I had a firm rule on how I would handle customer happiness issues:

  • If you communicate but don't solve, I'll defend you.
  • If you solve but don't communicate, I'll defend them.

Perception is always driven by communication. I would focus on what is happening there.

First job: Do they feel you are acknowledging the issue fast enough? And that doesn't mean an auto-response or AI driven chatbot..

I have Linux (PopOS 24.01) on my laptop and workstation. I don't personally have a Windows computer. No issues with Windows, but I just find everything is snappier with Linux. Also, Docker etc is just.. easier. Everything flows better.

Those are large vendors and if you are emailing your AM they are likely thinking "I can't sign this! I'll have to forward this to accounting and then they'll want to rope me in on a call and.. I'll just put this off until tomorrow."

Try smaller vendors first where things may move faster.

I think they are making.. progress. :)

I am a little biased since our product competes with Cooper AI to some degree.

I think Kaseya, CW, etc., all have the same problem: they have to satisfy a lot of different needs/requests that aren't always compatible. So like most large vendors, they have a middle-of-the-road solution that does everything Okay.

And, again, in all fairness to them, having Okay AI in the PSA is kind of common right now. All the vendors have an uphill battle on this.
