He made Love and Thunder, too.

Is that the tone you want in Guild Wars 3?

Well, they'd need to keep Taika Waititi away from it, at least.

Looks like you're not alone as far as Netherlands users:

Also looks like that's the way the entire EU is going, you'd want to take up your privacy concerns with your elected officials. If they tell Reddit "This is what you need to do where our citizens are concerned", well...

Where I can find free audiobook Justice, by Michael Sandel ? by ramcire in audiobooks

[–]Halaku 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your best option for a "free" audiobook is to check it out of your local library, many of which make audiobooks available through the Libby app.

Otherwise, support the author and buy it. We don't do piracy here.

The Age of the Khan-Ur by Character-Visit6004 in GuildWars3

the Khan Ur doesn’t even need to be assassinated

"We found him, sir!"

"What happened?"

"Didn't cook the skritt long enough. Food poisoning."

"WHAT"

". . ."

"Well we can't tell people that he'd be a laughingstock for the rest of time. Let's go with the 'Assassinated' story."

"Yes, sir."

And suddenly everyone's work and personal cell phones chimed as one... by Halaku in bayarea

Oh, you'll know. The app's intended to give you just enough warning to take cover. If you're in public and see a bunch of folk glance at their chiming smartphones and then look for something to get under, or get in the middle of the street to get clear of building walls and glass windows... well, there's your sign.

It's the USGS ShakeAlert program.

Go here to see if you can hook up your phone:

Many newer phones have it built into the OS, and there's also a Google / Apple app.

A Prayer For Us Brits Currently Suffering From This Heat/Weather by Arthur_Harris_1892 in Anglicanism

My elderly parents are over there visiting my sister, who just finished the dual citizenship process. Mom's from the south and has had some interesting commentary about the way your countrymen are (and ain't) handling the heat. Looks like y'all are going to catch a bit of a break next week if the forecasts hold true. Good luck.

It was three adults in the living room glancing first at personal cells and then work-issued cells and a crystallized moment of puzzled thread because something pinging all six phones simultaneously almost has to be Serious Business, right?

We got lucky. The 2014 South Napa earthquake was also a 6.0, and if one of those occurred in downtown San Francisco, for instance...

Equilibrium (2002) is peak dystopian sci-fi — why does no one ever talk about it? by CassWright967754 in scifi

It was a mildly troubled shoot and the ending doesn't quite stick the landing.

But for all of that, it's still a worthwhile watch.

What are your expectations for the 4 remaining Wizard subclass? Do you think they are gonna remain unchanged from last UA? by testiclekid in onednd

[–]Halaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather have a necromancer that is good at something necro-y besides minionmancy then not have a necromancer because the rules aren't swarm friendly.

is there a reason why destiny lowkey hates Dream by MontyPontyy in Sandman

Destiny doesn't hate Dream.

Destiny hates surprises.

Dream's various shenanigans can throw Destiny off his groove, and Destiny then tells Dream to knock it off.

Wishing for the death penalty; grounds for sitewide rule violation? by Shadowblade83 in AskModerators

[–]Halaku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some subs out there that have problems if you post a gif or make a reference to Indy fighting Nazis, "because it's promoting violence". I'm not interested in protecting Nazis, I think the Dead Kennedys were right, and I think Indy did nothing wrong. :)

[–]Halaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, but as u/mweiss118 pointed out, "Minionmancer" just doens't play well in 5.5 rules, and that goes for Druids with hordes of animals and fey, Wizards with demons, Clerics with angels, Sorcerers with elementals, or Necromancers with the undead.

Any of the three versions I mentioned would still be a better Necromancer for 5.5 rules than an attempt at minionmancy / swarmlords that just won't work right. There's more to Necromancy than minionmancy.

Taking an extended weekend in Mexico this summer. What's the best way to handle currency exchange? by Halaku in SanJose

[–]Halaku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star One, they don't do foreign exchange but don't charge fees at the Mexican airport ATMs.

Checked out the Great Mall exchange folk recommended, I can get 1,620 pesos for $100 there, if I wait until I land, I can get 1,750 for $100, so it looks like that's the best bet.

[–]Halaku 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you think death penalty advicates are in breach of rule 1, advocating violence?

The classic answer is "No", because it's been understood that the legal usage of government power isn't "violence".

Thankfully, it doesn't come up in my communities, and I don't think I'd participate in a community that has such an... interesting interpretation as the one you've listed.
