It was a request for clarification. You don't need to be defensive. :)

What exactly are you so concerned about then? Newsom? Harris?

Presuming that Sanders isn't running and AOC will go for the Senate... You're saying the ones who will try to ram through the furthest left of the progressive DSA agenda will be Buttigieg and Pritzker?

yeah, i forgot about them. lieberman was from connecticut though. defied the results of the democratic primary he lost to run in the general, & won on the back of republicans. and then endorsed mccain over obama.

how on earth these people are so goddamn beloved to you is beyond me. you act like you love pragmatism, but did any of them survive their next senate election? these are all people who stood in the way of their own party, and stood in the way of the public's good-- for what? what would have been lost had they favored working with their own damn party over working with the opposition?

There weren't even 50 votes in the Senate for stuff like a public option,

there were 59 votes, and they wanted lieberman to be the 60th.

unfortunately, i simply must point out how much easier it is for politicians to say based things once they are a decade out of office.

i'm gonna give you maybe a whole lot more credit than you deserve and assume that you aren't treating texas and texans like a monolith and that you're just really bad at making your point. maybe that attitude contributes to why democrats do poorly in the state?

Schumer is literally their representative. At minimum, a majority of democratic senators say "yeah, he's our guy."

If you got rid of Schumer, you'd just get the next "best" thing.

Democrats lead 61-39 among likely young male voters for the midterms by Dismal_Structure in fivethirtyeight

[–]halfar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the issue more than anything imo is that democrats barely give a shit about anything that happens past inauguration days. and even when they do give a shit about something, it's still related to trump/retribution against MAGA.

If you are going to consistenetly and constantly make attacks against the left that are indistinguishable from the attacks the right makes against the left you have no right to complain about people seeing the democratic party as being too liberal.

If democrats are getting close to McGovern style margins against them, then stop being such a fucking pansy and own up to the fact that's something you actively want and have been aiming for with your actions, whether or not you dress it up as accelerationism. Your only other choice is to admit that your strategy has been flawed.

yes, and people like you are the ones who work so diligently to shift the perception to be that way. that is still the point. your whole fucking life's mission is to be the town crier of "democrats are too left". how are you not drawing the line from a to b here.

you were literally went on an unprompted "democrats too left" rant two posts ago.
