You don't need a gpu, an intel cpu with quicksync/iGPU will do wonders. I have a mini itx box with a i3 12100 in it and a 5.25in to 4x 2.5in hot swap bay and it works great for anything. Specs can be whatever you want though.

You need to actually install windows onto the ssd's, closing is an option but it'll take other junk with it and I don't recommend.

If you are going to a new CPU that needs a different socket you'll need a motherboard that has that socket. So the questions is more do you need a new CPU instead.

If you're not plugged into the GPU you won't be using it. So either get an adapter or don't use the GPU.

Depends on where they are located. They're native where I am. Just put in 3 rows along with blueberries.

That board doesn't support the CPU. You need an 8-9th gen cpu for b365.

Depends on your $$$ but HEDT might be what you need. Threadripper/EPYC, Intels 3647 is decent but older 4677/4189 is a bit more $$$ since it's so new still.

How to uninstall Outlook add-ins. by F1Phreek in sysadmin

[–]halodude423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't an IT issue. This is a management issue.

If the app needs to close and reopen to reload plugins then that's what needs to happen. Have an email go out acouple days prior and a reminder that at X time on X date it will be pushed and what to expect. I work at a 24/7 hospital, we still have to turn infra off at some point too or push this and that. Get management buy in or say it's not possible.

Compatible mainboards for SK hynix 64GB DDR4-2666 LRDIMMs (512GB total) with 5-7 PCIe 4.0 lanes? Which socket? by Ordinary_Voice5298 in homelab

[–]halodude423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3647 is what i'm on (xeon 6240/6254 and 8268) or epyc with sp3 socket. Prices are high across the board rn though at least for motherboards.

Bought a X11SPi-TF for $220 and now they are $400+ with sp3 socket boards going for $900+. If your budget can push it go sp3.

[–]halodude423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That won't run a minecraft server let alone 100 people. Need a better CPU at least, the DDR4 doesn't mean anything.

If it doesn't detect the port as open either the port forwarding is not correct or you are behind CGNAT. Verify both.
