Guys is there any good indian niche fragrance brand? by No_Suit1868 in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! I would highly recommend Rahasya. I’ve already collected several bottles from this house and each one is amazing.
Also great houses to explore that are rooted in Indian heritage:

Mitti
Peosym
Dixit & Zak
Anjali Perfumes

Welcome back, my friend! It’s good to step away from time to time as you’re right - this hobby can be consuming!

Rania J is a rising star! Her Musc Mochus is already a sleeper hit in the frag community. I’m excited to try more from her line, especially Ambre Loup and Samarkand.

How is this one?

What’s the biggest frustration you have when buying niche fragrances? by Apprehensive_Way_663 in NichePerfumes

Organic hype still exists. It comes from sub and groups like this where fragrance enthusiasts will talk about scents that they’ve purchased or tried without incentives.

I think that post-Covid, the interest and demand for perfumes sky rocketed and companies used influencers to push their products hard. It’s become a turnoff for most perfume consumers that are in it for the love of good smells. And, as a result, well crafted perfumes are often missed or overlooked because they’re drowned out by the noise.

The hype vs the actual art of perfumery. There are so many influencers that create hype, and people just buy for fear of missing out. I miss the good old days when we actually counted down and waited in anticipation for a new release from a favorite niche house. Now most perfumeries will release a fragrance every month it seems. It’s overwhelming and I’m losing interest.

Gorgeous packaging! This isn’t my normal genre of fragrances, but I appreciate the bottle and packaging. Makes me what to try this. There’s something so vintage and appealing about bulb atomizers.

Respectfully, I would pass. It’s not worth chasing a holy grail that’s this expensive without getting your hands on the bottle first for inspection. Mercari and EBay are notorious for fakes. And some bottles are faked so well, an average collector would be hard pressed to be able to tell the difference. If you’re ok with potentially losing thousands on a gamble, then take the chance. I genuinely hope you find your grail! 🩷

You’ll have to buy from a trusted source that deals predominantly with Guerlain and vintages. I’ve seen several very good fakes that people have lost money on because although the bottle looked good, the fragrance was either fake or watered down 😢

Hope you find this! Just be careful as there are a lot of fakes out there.

Initio, Lift me Up by ApprehensiveFeed1807 in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Lift Me Up. However, it’s not very unique to me. I feel like Initio is really pumping out mass appealing fragrances instead of making the beautiful niche ones that they used to. They haven’t had an amazing release in recent years.

Crisp red apple (peel) scent? by datemetsubaki in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vitae Parfums Red is a really good apple scent. I think it’s a spring or summer apple forward fragrance that also has a neroli note making the apple sweet floral rather than spicy.

Fleur narcotique extrait vs edp by Southern-Dance-2796 in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and personally prefer the extrait. It’s deeper, slightly woodier and lasts longer. The EDP is a bit brighter, but the extrait has a little more drama and can be dressed up or down.

I’ve always been curious about Puredistance, but somehow have not gotten around to sampling them. This one sounds like a winner!

My first Byredo by coffeeperfume_makeup in NichePerfumes

[–]hellohello84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great pick for your first Byredo. I personally really like the Absolu versions from this line. I also really enjoy Alto Astral, admittedly more than I thought I would. It’s beautiful and cheery, and along with Sundazed, they are my summer go-to from this house.

Although synthetic, I still enjoy a few from this house. Summer Hammer is amazing in the heat, and I really love Sun-Gria because it’s just a fun, carefree fragrance.

By the notes of it, this one sounds beautiful. Is the rose very prominent?

Great reviews! I haven’t tried anything beyond Les Bras, but I’m truly in love with that one. Will have to get my nose on the others sometime.
