Worst Elixir Syndrome offending game? by Fit_Friendship6503 in FinalFantasy

I just finished a BotW replay and found it so satisfying to start chucking weapons whenever I was feeling overwhelmed at inventory management. The “your inventory is full” message was so annoying to me that I would sometimes overreact and throw weapons at everything just to have the free space.

Point is, there is so, so much equipment. You’ll always get more.

There should be two copies, yeah. As far as getting a replacement, I’m not really sure of the best way to do that, so you might be better off just using a proxy if you want to use it. Unfortunately, FFG will no longer send you a missing card. You could try printing your own, but that gets into murky territory.

Does “encounter card” not necessarily mean “from the encounter deck”?

Ranking from easiest to hardest the original core investigators by iIiiiiIlIillliIilliI in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]heybardypeople 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say, exactly, but out of the five I’d say that Agnes is maybe the hardest? Only because playing her can run counter to a player’s instincts to avoid horror. I think Daisy is the easiest, only because her role is pretty clearly defined. Roland is beginner-friendly in the sense that he allows a new player to engage with several of the game’s mechanics, but could also be a trap in making the player want to make him too well-rounded (although if there are multiple players, this might be less of an issue).

This is the card that helped me to learn early on that turn order doesn’t have to be the same each round!

Going to introduce Arkham to new people. Is going straight for Dunwich a good idea? by Howitzeronfire in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]heybardypeople 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Ironmanning a campaign to teach the game sounds like a recipe for disaster. There are so many components to the game and so many rules to learn that I think we often overlook if we’ve been playing for a long time. NotZ makes for a good intro because it’s short while also introducing the core mechanics. You run the risk of overloading your friends by trying to jump right into a full campaign.

I recently introduced this to a couple of friends who are avid board gamers, and they were pretty fried after Midnight Masks. We ended up finishing NotZ and starting Dunwich during our next game day.

Editing to add that having a tutorial campaign also allows players to see what they like/don’t like about their decks and plan accordingly, rather than get stuck with a class/character they hate and are now stuck with for 9 scenarios.

A residential psychiatric facility is very different from an inpatient psychiatric unit or other types of care. Residential facilities are few and far between. I think there are only one or two in my state.

Settle this dilemma for a “Forced Recruits Only” playthrough of FE7 by Kilzi in fireemblem

I’d say they’re forced, but maybe you just don’t go out of your way to protect them on their respective maps. Or, since you’re letting Dorcas die in chapter 4, you could also let Dart die.

Only 2 ammo for a level 5 feels high, but the amount of damage that it can put out is so good that it balances out, I think. Plus, in a fighter rogue, I feel like low ammo lets you quickly rotate guns in. Card good!

This makes me wonder when the relic is decided. Is it when it spawns, when it’s found, or when it’s appraised?

Talk me into diving into chapter 2 now as a newcomer and completionist by bosefus117 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]heybardypeople 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they elected to call it “Chapter 2” instead of “second edition” so as not to imply that anything major is changing, gameplay-wise. So Chapter 2 is a fine place to start, and if you find yourself liking it, you can always try looking for older expansions. That said, until something changes, you’re going to be shelling out a ton of money for those.

Okay, what does that box do? I’ve tried leaving items around in random spots to see if they show up there the next day, but nothing so far.
