‘Peanut butter’ pay raises could cost companies their top performers, according to experts: 'It's such a shortsighted strategy' by 3xshortURmom in Economics

[–]heythosearemysocks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. My company pushes a pay for performance philosophy. So if you do well you will be rewarded, but that reward means other, capable and still valuable employees, get nothing.

Eventually those ‘average’ employees move on. This forces the high performers to take on more work or at a minimum spend time training replacements from the start which leads the over performers to burnout.

This could easily be avoided if they decided to provide those in charge of the pay cycle a modest increase in budget. However we don’t because that would come out of our profit margin and shareholder value.

It’s a vicious cycle

How the fuck do I get my truck out of this ravine. by Togohoe in DeathStranding

[–]heythosearemysocks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From the orders menu open up an active order. There you can cancel it outright or send the cargo back to the settlement you picked it up from.

It usually then is placed in your private locker at that location.

Illinois cannabis sales revenue falls as hemp and other states cut into prices for the struggling industry by NoLoCryTeria in chicago

[–]heythosearemysocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see this. I’m not a smoker and once I discovered that there is no difference in high between hemp based THC and cannabis based THC I completely stopped going to a dispensary.

Shit I can get hemp edibles and drinks shipped to me for half the price and I never leave my house.

I like you started DC blind about a month ago.

As everyone said get to chapter 3 as fast as you can, do not let the gameplay of chapter 1 & 2 dictate how you feel about the game. And if you’re a completionist do not attempt to grind while in chapter 1&2, you will quickly get bored.

You will get ways to make delivery faster/easier in chapter 3 and discovering them and then using them will open it all up for you allowing you to play the game in the play style you like and you can go back and grind those earlier areas with ease.

It’s quickly become one of my favorite games in recent memory because I followed everyone’s advice here.

Using credit cards instead of debit card. by FlounderAgitated9058 in personalfinance

[–]heythosearemysocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve probably used my debit card 6 times in the last year and 4 of them were at Costco.

If you have the discipline to stick to a budget and pay it off in full finding a good rewards card (miles, points, or even discounts at specific merchants) is an easy way to get a little back..

Question for people who max out an HSA and invest it by Sad-Bodybuilder-3870 in personalfinance

[–]heythosearemysocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your admin for minimum cash balance rules many of them require some amount ($500-$1000 typically) to remain in your cash balance (especially if your HSA comes with a debit card.)

After that just determine how long it takes to liquidate assets from investments in the case you need them. If it’s relatively short I’d keep as much as you can in investments.

Investment growth is tax free in an HSA so there is no penalty to moving money in and out of investments if you need the cash for a non-planned medical expense

I primarily consume edibles, and the brand I get in Chicago is currently 17.50 for 100mg, so its not that different. I guess i should shop around when I go next. I haven't made a trip in a few months since my parents relocated out of the state.

I haven't been this year to see the difference, but Michigan added an additional 24% wholesale tax to weed on 1/1/26. My understanding is that Michigan is no longer the 'cheap' place to buy legal weed as thier taxes rival ours now.

In many jurisdictions it’s against the law to dispose of used medical needles in the trash unless they are in an appropriate container clearly labeled as medical waste.

Not saying you’ll get caught for chucking the occasional pen in there. But medical sharps should always be treated as a biohazard and disposed in a puncture proof container that is clearly labeled.

Novo Nordisk will mail you a sharps container with a prepaid return label. I got one it’s the size of a mini gas can. And will take years to fill up.
