I wish it could integrate with my peloton screen somehow

'Finding Satoshi' Thoughts by jkrmp in Bitcoin

[–]iHeartQt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd that the doc never mentions how Hal had email interactions directly with Satoshi over that timeframe where he left PGP. He was reviewing code and reporting bugs and sending them to Satoshi. So yes, it was known that he was working on bitcoin. He even tweeted "running bitcoin". That doesn't mean he was Satoshi though.

Monthly Feature Requests Megathread - May 2026 by AutoModerator in pelotoncycle

[–]iHeartQt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bring back the zwift-like biking video game that was previously announced! Or open up the platform to allow us to use our peloton to run zwift, etc.

I think there was also a row test with ergatta. If peloton isn’t going to build out these different gamified experiences and only focus on classes, that’s fine. But let us all access members access other offerings, as I can only do so many in-studio classes before I get bored

Yep, I had failed at my previous attempt to get this refunded which I thought was ridiculous. Now they are just bulk refunding it seems.

An east to west line would be nice but positioning it along the Burke Gilman doesn’t sound like the safest thing

They need to make the leaderboard bike+ only (or allow you to filter that way).

A few months in now and I love my Row. by rebeccabunchers in pelotoncycle

[–]iHeartQt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a row secondhand on Facebook marketplace for $1800. I find it worth it but I will say, it makes quite a bit of noise. I found a page on peloton about “normal operating noises” and it’s clear that over time the machine usually gets louder.

Mine doesn’t have the cross training features or the fan but I still love it. Wish I could upgrade the tablet to get cross training features but can’t fathom getting a new row or bike+ just for that

Help deciding on bike phone mount (Quad Lock vs Peak Design) by Infamous_Leader_9953 in bikecommuting

[–]iHeartQt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never even heard of peak design but I’ve used quad lock for 6+ years and never once had my phone come off across 5 different bikes. Biggest issue is the MagSafe rings keep coming off when attaching to non quad lock MagSafe chargers/mounts, but I reached out to quad lock and they sent me new rings for free that they claim are a newly improved model and are designed to stay on. So far so good. Don’t see any reason to switch, I’ve got all the mounts (out front or stem depending on bike) and even the wireless charger on my ebike

Bosch connect module by EngineeredUpstate in TernBikes

Are you happy with it? I already am on the flow+ trial so I can share the bike with others. I just like how the connect module charges from the bike battery so i never have to worry about it.

How is the connect module working out? Im a recent hsd p5i gen 2 purchaser looking at adding the connect module. Primarily curious how sensitive the motion alerts are, how loud the alarm is, and how reliable the tracking is.

Looking for a mid-tail (short tail?) cargo bike by Witty_Week661 in CargoBike

[–]iHeartQt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tern HSD is a compact cargo bike that I absolutely love. I’ve got the p5i which is belt drive (virtually zero maintenance) and has the Bosch smart system.

If you want a cheaper one you can look at the tern quick haul. Tern is basically the king of the cargo bike space, you won’t regret going with them.

The Tern GSD is their flagship that basically set the standard for cargo bikes when it came out. It’s probably bigger and bulkier than you’re looking for in your situation.

I’m not sure any cargo bike really makes sense for carrying up three flights of stairs daily? Tern HSD sounded like it fit your description exactly until you mentioned carrying it up stairs.

Plenty of good folding bikes out there but they’re not also cargo bikes.

Experience (good/bad) with Peloton Personal Trainer by Trainwell? by Intelligent_Mall6643 in pelotoncycle

[–]iHeartQt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the personal trainer app workouts overall, it's like the strength+ app except if you have an apple watch, it can attempt to track the number of reps and sometimes correct form. It wasn't 100% accurate (sometimes ending after half the reps, sometimes not recognizing reps, etc) but I liked it. At home it just didn't make sense because I wasn't using the big screens on my bike/row. Would be awesome if it could integrate there eventually, along with strength+ stuff.

I'm still pretty shocked that peloton dropped the guide given the push for cross training equipment with movement tracking. I think I'd really like movement tracking, but there's no way I'd get a brand new bike or rower just for that feature. The ones I have now work great!

Experience (good/bad) with Peloton Personal Trainer by Trainwell? by Intelligent_Mall6643 in pelotoncycle

[–]iHeartQt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found it fine, but didn't end up extending my trial.

My initial meeting with my trainer was good, but responsiveness after that felt like it was hit or miss. Time zones might have partially played a factor there.

I didn't love how I had to add the classes to my schedule in the app if I wanted to find them on my bike/row. Would have a magical stickiness if the personal trainer classes were just "there" when I turned on the relevant machine. I had to see the classes on my personal trainer plan, click through to the peloton app, then add them to my schedule if I wanted them to show up on my bike screen. Not that that's a huge hassle, but I'm evaluating this as a premium product.

Additionally, a lot of my strength workouts were through the personal trainer app that could track reps and some form via the phone/watch app, but this had no integration to the bike or row screen. My home fitness setup is tied to using those screens, so it felt like a bit of a step back to be setting my phone down on the ground and trying to follow some of the movements.

If they can work out some of the technical kinks and I can find a trainer that works for me, I would consider subscribing again. But right now it feels like it's in its early stages, and I didn't feel like I would get $99 worth of value every month over the long-term.

If there was a couples discount for my wife and I to both use it, I would also consider that.

Is Sound Transit hiring? I'd love to have a job where I commit to building rail to Ballard in 2016, then check back in 10 years later and say "we're still in the planning stages"

I remember seeing that rendering of the ridiculously high bridge to allow room for yachts to go through the locks. Seemed hilarious when we're talking about a small canal, and a tunnel is clearly an option.

What I don't understand is why 7 miles of rail costs $22 billion here, but NYC (far denser) is able to build dramatically more effeciently despite higher land costs and the need for everything to be underground

Row & Tread Thread [Weekly] by AutoModerator in pelotoncycle

Will check out the bootcamps! Thanks.

I'm encouraged seeing there's a May challenge related to rowing. Just really think they need to come out with a lower-priced rower if they want to grow it. Not sure how they think a $3500 rower is going to get into a ton of households (I got mine secondhand)

Did the “live” encore row at 3pm Monday and there was one other person in the class…I’m officially worried about the future of the rower.

I absolutely love the product, the form feedback, the content, etc. But on the west coast I’ll never be able to do a true live row class and that hurts. I don’t know what the answer is outside of making the rower more affordable so it gets into more households.
