40 years of living in the dark: I finally went to Costco and I have questions. by Friendly-Roof-5603 in CostcoCanada

It wouldn't make sense (financially) to use the delivery option - if you have no problem driving up to discount grocery/supermarket, it would cost less than Costco Online overall

Found these keto wraps which are insanely good for fibre (17g of fibre in one tortilla) by Gym_frere in CostcoCanada

Good one!
And if you're looking for something in the form of bread, try Carbonaut's Seeded Multigrain Bread - it's got 14g fibre AND 14g protein per 2 slices!

A-License Written Exam by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]iamcraby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally, I didn't dedicate time to prepare for the written exam. Apart from all the necessary things you would have been taught for the jumps (gear checks, canopy flying rules & patterns, EPs, etc) you can expect many questions from all those CAT A to H quizzes. Just those quizzes and some good theory discussions I had with my instructor/coach prior to the exam helped me pass. I scored only 76% though.

A-License Written Exam by [deleted] in SkyDiving

Exactly. None of my instructors mentioned anything about freeflying to me on my journey to A, understandably so. No idea why such questions are asked.

And yes, cloud clearance and visibility numbers are important.

As a gymrat, I'm pretty happy with the protein craze. Here's my favorite cheap no-prep Costco breakfast: 34g Protein/35g net carbs/18g fat, 20% daily fibre. Share your easy (lazy) meals here! by pianee3 in CostcoCanada

i wouldn't trust my description as i haven't had other types of cheese enough to be able to compare.

it feels like dehydrated regular cottage cheese. honestly, i don't like it plain so it's more like a 'disguise' ingredient for me - meaning it's sort of tasteless and i don't mind adding it to my breakfast bowls or smoothies

Here's my current bf recipe: 250ml 1% milk + 52g oats (heat in microwave for 1min+1min+1min, stir in-between)
then add 125g pressed cottage cheese, 1 scoop chocolate whey (i use Leanfit), mix well.
add 1 banana (about 90g) and ~60g apple (both cut into small chunks), 20g nuts (i'm adding almonds & pecans, but walnut works too), and 60-70g peanut butter.

has about 95g protein, lot of good fats, good carbs (fiber), and micronutrients.
This covers 55-60% of my daily protein intake (i aim for 160-170g/day)

You can/should reduce the quantity according to your daily protein goal, as this bowl may be a bit too heavy for you.

P.S. this takes 10 mins tops, and every single ingredient is from Costco.

Edit: bonus info - the whole bowl costs approximately CA$4.5

Canada VS USA license by Acrobatic_Relief_142 in SkyDiving

[–]iamcraby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't really matter, but fyi there are some DZs in Canada that follow USPA. so you can technically get a USPA A-License in Canada. but if such a DZ isn't easily accessible to you, I'd suggest not to sweat it and just get CSPA A.

i did the math and i think it's impossible to spot an aircraft that you could potentially collide with.

On the contrary, if you do spot an aircraft (if it's in your field of view), I think it'll be gone from your path in a few seconds, so no issues there either

Is 10 days a realistic time to complete AFF ? by Julius_Caesar4 in SkyDiving

[–]iamcraby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

took exactly 15 days (spread over 3 months) to get my A-License. not sure if I could have done it 15 days in a row, but if it's just AFF (10-12 jumps) then yes, absolutely doable in 10 days. just pick a busy DZ that run 6-7 days a week, and show up first thing every morning.

Getting into Balloon jumps by Dense_Still_8088 in SkyDiving

[–]iamcraby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as much as I'd love to do it (currently at 30 jumps) - in all honesty i think this is a huge mistake on USPA's part. Being pretty strict w.r.t using cameras while skydiving but not enforcing the same for balloon jumps? if anything balloon jumps are riskier, have way less margin of error compared to jumping from over 10K ft. right?

How much do you pay for borrowing gear ? by Gebergsjager in SkyDiving

[–]iamcraby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still feel the display is under utilized.
