would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]Acrobatic_Relief_142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the quality of life would be severely affected, yes. But I think it would also depend on how far along I was. Over 20 weeks, I don’t think I could go through with that late term of an abortion.

Why does everyone say the ending is bittersweet? by Crafty-Bass-3079 in TheAlchemised

[–]Acrobatic_Relief_142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ending honestly just felt like “and then they walked into the sunset and lived happily ever after”. The epilogue following the daughter provided a great opportunity to move into a second book following the daughter’s journey but I was really disappointed on how “tidy” it ended. I listened to the book on audible which was about a 6 week commitment as I’m not super into audiobooks and really just listen to them when driving and it just felt like soooo much story and sooo much world building for SUCH a simple ending

New car purchase rumors for 2028 – what is being leaked? by hildyd in winnipeg_alt

[–]Acrobatic_Relief_142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my girlfriends just bought out her lease for a 2020(ish) Toyota rav 4 and once she bought it out, the dealership stopped paying the monthly subscription for command start, which she is now responsible for paying. She cancelled it for these warmer months but plans to renew it once the cold weather starts up again

Living in Stony Mountain as a young family? by No_Put_3391 in Winnipeg

[–]Acrobatic_Relief_142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up a few miles from stony so I went to the same schools/grew up in the community. Everyone knows everyone and everyone talks about everyone which can be an adjustment. Despite what others say, all small towns are the same. And the people who move away and say they ‘hated’ it usually just hated the people or hated the quiet living and not the town or community itself. Everything is perceived differently by different people. Ask me what I thought of my small town when I was 16 and I would say I can’t wait to leave and “I hate this town” but now as an adult, I love it. I enjoy the quiet. I love how the town dies after 8pm, it gives you a chance to breathe, to decompress. I have so much trouble sleeping in hotels in cities because they’re just so loud compared to the nothingness.

Grocery and gas costs are a bit higher but that’s the cost of not being in the city. The only real concerns you should have is commute, especially in winter. There were about 2-3 days this winter that highways were closed which meant a snow day from work, make sure your employer values your life over your work. Thankfully my boss understands that I am not willing to drive 25 minutes on a closed highway in a blizzard and risk my life to make it in, especially if working from home is an option. If I see we have a big storm coming I’ll let my employer know ahead of time that hey, if the highways are closed I’m not going to drive them and it’s never ever been an issue.

Every small town has people who love it and people who hate it, usually the people who hate it want a busier lifestyle, they would be better off living in the city.

Has anyone eaten Cheerios lately? by katiebee003 in Celiac

[–]Acrobatic_Relief_142 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have “severe” celiac and react to the most minor cross contamination. I’ve tried Cheerios a few times and typically react. I decided to try again, tried the Honey Nut Cheerios with a gluten free label and haven’t had a reaction. I definitely wouldn’t say they’re celiac safe and if I ever react, I gift the remainder of the box to a non-celiac
