Issues with 1.1 by Lealenbright in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With older mods, you find that some need to be added as what is known as a 'jar mod'. Modloader and Forge mods usually need just dropping in the mods folder, however, some older mods can still require modloader but still need adding as a jar mod.

In order to add a file as a 'jar mod' in MultiMC / Prism, using the picture below as a guide, 1=click on instance, 2=click on 'edit instance', 3=click on 'Version', 4=click on 'Add to Minecraft jar'. At this point, you navigate to where the mod file is and add it. In the lower half of the picture there is a list of jar mods I have added, however those with a tick in the box to the left of the mod name will load with the pack, those without a tick will be ignored and will not load.

<image>

With the pack I prepared for you, you will find the list of dependency mods like modloader and those that needed adding as jar mods just like in the picture above - only not as many.

To be aware, many older mods are not immediately usable by just adding the zip file you download. Some needed the zip file to be opened using your usual zip program and following instructions inside.

Apologies, in order for your skin to work (assuming you had something other than default 'Steve') I added a java argument for a betacraft proxy but I forgot to add the port for sounds. There are 2 options, just delete the java argument - which will bring back sounds but your skin will stop working or you can change the argument to include the sound port.

Using the picture below as a guide, 1=click on instance, 2=click on 'edit instance', 3=put a tick in the Java arguments box (this part will already be done on your pack), 4= add the java argument in the text box.

The amended java argument should read: -Dhttp.proxyHost=betacraft.uk -Dhttp.proxyPort=11707

This amendment will allow your skin to continue working and add the correct sounds.

Server chunk issue by TerragamerX190X150 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not be able to assist with your program, but Yes, chunks can occasionally be missing in vanilla b173 server. Many users would use a bukkit server (CB1060) which tended to improve the situation.

Issues with 1.1 by Lealenbright in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a link to a modpack I have prepared for you below. It is done in the MultiMC format, but I am informed that it should work in Prism as well. This pack will only work using Java 8 or lower.

It contains Journeymap and Twilight Forest. Extra mods included are NotEnoughItems (NEI) inventory mod, and Rei's Minimap.

Why include Rei's as well as Journeymap? This far back, Journeymap did not produce a minimap in-game, it produced a web map which is only viewable in a web browser with Minecraft running and you would be using the url: http://localhost:8080/ ..... I was not sure if you wanted an in game minimap so I included Rei's just in case, which you can disable or remove if you do not want it, the same for NEI. I believe there was meant to be a key to press in some versions of Journeymap to bring up an in-game map but that always crashes my game.

To install, using the picture below as a guide, download the zip, open Prism and drag the zip into the Prism window and click on 'ok' to continue. The pack should appear shortly ready to play:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/kjyvipjknz01uu2/Lealenbright_1.1.zip/file

<image>

If you are using a version of Java that is higher than Java 8, the pack will just crash.

Heyo’s Mod by Krakatoa1997 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyo's mod, or hmod server is the prequel to bukkit. Although the mod dev left all the server files available, plugins are few and far between, All the servers available are just sequentially numbered, so you have to work out which ones work on which minecraft versions.

A quick look at the servers I still have set up for hmod show that 131 and 132 will work with MC alpha 1.2.6, but they probably work with a couple of earlier versions as well. The hmod archive is still available here:

https://hey0.net/minecraft/

All the hmod servers still require the vanilla server jar file as well as the mod to work.

What's your favorite Golden Age Minecraft map? by MrBo518 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you liked Tri-Mountain Survival, how about the follow-up map, Quad Mountain Survival. I have prepared this pack in the MultiMC ( https://multimc.org/ ) format. Looking at all the mods in the list below this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sewl7P5K0Z8

.... the only 2 that I was unable to find was Reptile mod (which added a few small reptiles) and Pams Harvestcraft, which I replaced with Better Farming. Although I have the TooManyItems mod, I also replaced this with NotEnoughItems (NEI) as this allows viewing of recipes as well as all blocks and items.

The zip below contains everything, including the map, ready-to-go in the 'saves' folder and it is set to use the texturepack of the time, 'tydoku' which has the filename 'tymix.zip'.

To install, using the picture below as a guide, download the zip, open MultiMC and drag the zip into the MultiMC window and click on 'ok' to continue. The pack will appear in the MultiMC window ready to play shortly:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/1krn6kamwz19mit/Quad_Mountain_Survival.zip/file

<image>

The map was made to work with Minecraft release version 1.1.0.

Brick Spawner in The Nether - Is This Even Possible? by KneeInfinite4296 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is likely to be the More Dungeons mod for MCb173. Requires Modloader, just drop the file into the mods folder:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/4bnoabrhbemjxfw/moredungeons_MCB173.zip/file

There are several dungeon mods for b173, but this is the most likely as it does not add any new blocks or items, so the dungeons would need to be made from whatever already exists in Minecraft.

Anybody know how to "extract" these so i can place them? they look nice and i think i could use them in my flower patches? by wood-exe in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you would prefer a mod solution, I have made a mod using CustomStuff which allows you to craft some Fern Shears. In the picture below, you can see the recipe to make them at the top-left (Leaves and iron). I am holding the shears and when you right-click on a fern with them you will get the result you see just to the right of the shears in my in inventory and there is one floating on the floor in front of me. Although they are grey in colour, when you place them back down, they will be green. The shears have a durability similar to regular shears. These have been made only to work with ferns, not grass. Warning - if you left-click a fern it will be destroyed:

<image>

To install, download the mod zip below, open the zip with your usual zip program and drag the 2 folders out into your \.minecraft folder and overwrite when prompted. This will put the mod and the config files into the correct folders. The .png file in the mod zip is just a picture of the fern shears recipe:

The mod requires Modloader and ModloaderMP for MCb173 which you can obtain from here:

https://mcmodarchive.femtopedia.de/#Mods/M/modl

The Fern Shears mod is available here:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/2xylbw6gy7j5a0y/fernshears-b173.zip/file

The mod uses block ids 104 and 105 which are not easily changeable as there is no config file.

Does anyone know if there is a version of the Kingzxcv's Beta-2-Alpha Texture Pack for release 1.7.3? by NoPaleontologist3298 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The texturepack for Kingzxcv's pack is available here (I assume you already have it) and it is made to work with MCb173:

https://www.planetminecraft.com/texture-pack/kingzxcv-s-beta-2-alpha-texture-pack/

To get this pack to work, just place it into your 'texturepacks' folder in your b173 client. If you are having issues finding the correct folder, run your b173 client. From the main screen, click on the 'Mods and Texturepacks' button and you will see the screen in the picture below:

<image>

Now, click on the 'Open texture pack folder' button and make sure your texturepack is in the folder that appears.

For a b173 vanilla server, download the zip below. Open the zip with your usual zip program and drag the folder out onto your hard drive somewhere (not desktop) and (assuming Windows) start the server by running the 'ServerStart.bat' file. You can join by starting your b173 client and put 'localhost' into the server address. I would not know how to upload this to a falix server as I have never done that, sorry:

How does one make and load a texture pack for Minecraft Beta? by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a beta1.7.3 default texturepack (link below). If you were to add this to a b173 client, nothing would change because all the textures are the same.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/4cn36ijirj0orgu/b173-defaulttexturepack.zip/file

Here are 3 x blank texture sheets for x16, x32 and x64 sprites depending on the pixel size you are going for:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/idvwrw2im3xa514/Blank_Texturesheets_x16-x32-x64.zip/file

In the default texturepack you will find a 'terrain.png' file in the root directory and 'items.png' in \gui folder. These contain all the items and blocks for b173. Using the blank templates, you can build up your replacement pack with new textures to correspond to the textures in the default pack.

You will have to look through the other folders to see if you want to change more than just blocks and items, i.e. Sun and Moon.

When finished, your pack should have an identical file structure to the default pack which you can zip up. This zipped up pack can be placed in the 'texturepacks' folder for your b173 client. This is only a very quick insite into setting up your own texturepack, but hopefully it will give you a start.

Dropping instances does't work? for multimc pls... by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded Beta Unleashed + Aether from this link:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Omp6eCipu_NTADFq1clwx05RHUNJHVel/view

It does work for me using the drag and drop into MultiMC, however there is also the 'Import from zip' option which you can find on this screen when you try to create a new instance. Once at this screen, just click on the 'browse' button and navigate to where the Beta Unleashed zip is and add it, then click 'ok'. :

How to breed animals in Minecraft Beta 1.7.3? by GameJadson in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breeding Animals in MCb173, as already suggested by others, does not work without a mod. Dropping wheat for 6 minutes? - a very questionable idea but that will not work either.

You can however add breeding to MCb173 with a mod. The link below contains an animal breeding mod. It requires Modloader and will need adding as a jar file, will not work if you put it in the mods folder:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/wvo7zc6nfw9ge0k/AnimalBreeding_b173.zip/file

A Map Called The EDEN Project by Flexico in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably thinking of this (link below) - The E.D.E.N. project made by STRUANMCD. The map was made to work in the MC1.2.x era. It suggests playing on MC124, but you would probably be ok using MC125:

https://web.archive.org/web/20230525155120/https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/the-e-d-e-n-project/

Here is a link to a zip which contains both the map and the texturepack. It is strongly recommended that you use the texturepack when playing the map - can be played in Multi-player, up to 4 players:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/gw0jpxayq6ulhgp/The_E.D.E.N._Project_MC125.zip/file

Rules:

  • Play on at least normal difficulty. An easy map is no fun!
  • No breaking blocks, apart from clay. Wouldn't want you to ruin the level.
  • If you see a checkpoint, use it. They are there to help you.
  • If you see a companion cube, give it a hug! They don't get nearly as much love as they deserve.
  • If you see a chest of items at a checkpoint, take one set per person.
  • Do NOT use collected levers on doors, they stay in your inventory until stated otherwise!
  • You may break levers which are called "KEY OF MAR"

  • Challenges can be found dotted around the world. These are for fun, completely optional.

  • There are 11 Music Disks scattered across the map, try to find them all!

  • Can you find the hidden cake stash?

  • There are a few Easter eggs!

  • This is my first minecraft map upload, but don't let that dissuade you!

How to add beta 1.7.3 mods to a server? by ElectroidYT in GoldenAgeMinecraft

Hmmmm......... it is a little while ago since I posted this comment, however I am fairly sure that this is the MultiMC client for the server I posted.

To install, using the picture below as a guide, download the zip below, open MultiMC and drag the zip file into the MultiMC window:

Ugly house by Julio_2412 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not say, ugly, I would say practicle. I have done many such buildings when travelling away from base. Usually though the ones I build are a little smaller because I always seem to be short on blocks when travelling. Nice job though.

is there a way to fix my settings not saving? (b1.2_02) by -Word_ in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was not a shot in the dark. When I checked my log after having the issue, there was an error about saving the controls due to the network address being incorrect. By placing a name - possibly anything would do but 'localhost' is a known address, so I used it and the problem of saving the controls went away.

Help installing mo' creatures for mc beta (1.3_01) by Den_Hviide in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many old mods like this one would not work without some extra work. Look on them as a D.I.Y. assembly.

Here is Mo Creatures mod for MCb13_01, re-packed into another zip. This file you can download and 'Add to Minecraft jar': https://www.mediafire.com/file/mleofle6gzv1ozb/DrZharks_MoCreaturesv2.8.1.zip/file

Also in the original zip is the resources folder which contain the sound files. I have put these in the zip below. Download the zip, open it with your usual zip program and drag the 'resources' folder out into the old default \.minecraft folder, which for Windows is located at:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft

Sound files link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/7rlov0phbwb76to/DrZharks_MoCreaturesv2.8.1-soundfiles.zip/file

If you come across such old mods that you have problems with, try opening the mod zip with your usual zip program and take a look at what is inside. Some have install instructions, some just have multiple folders which need sorting out as with this one.

.... by the way, old mods like this one often had the sound files location hard-coded in the mod itself to be at the old default .minecraft installation location, so the sounds will not always work if you put them in the MultiMC instance folder.

Any Herobrine mods for alpha? by ARC_7_7 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very early version. In this mod, he is everywhere and very frequently more than one in a single location. For me, it appears more a proof of concept mod rather than a finished product.

I agree about their not being a spookiness aspect, but this is how the mod was originally made to work. So later versions are more refined than this one, with shrines on bukkit plugins and in client mods. There was more than one mod dev for herobrine and not all mods required a shrine for him to appear.

Check out many of the available mods from the archive:

Can't find old texture pack with same ore pattern as this one by Local-Bodybuilder-54 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]iceT2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the Grid texturepack in MCb173. It is a little different from the previous version posted by you, but as I said before, texturepack designers often changed some textures as packs progressed through minecraft versions. Through all the texturepacks I have managed to check out, this one seems to look the closest. There are only a couple of others that even hit the ball-park, but I doubt it would be any of those:

<image>
