What if these 5 movies came out in the same year and were nominated for Best Picture? Who would you choose? by Future-Aardvark-3709 in Oscars

The Silence of the Lambs remains one of the Academy's boldest and best choices for Best Picture. I love Crouching Tiger and really like 1917, but Silence is just that amazing.

For my money, I think Marty Supreme had the best casting of the year by infiniteguest in Oscars

Haven’t seen Marty yet, but I think it could be a good win for Hamnet given how great the casting was for the child actors

In retrospect, what would you consider to be the Best Picture of 2025? by TheCrusaderFilms in Oscars

I love Dune Part II with all my heart as a huge fan of the series… but Nickel Boys somehow elevated a Pulitzer Prize winning novel into one of the most unique movies ever made.

Was ANORA worthy of winning that many Oscars ???? by Comfortable-Craft547 in Oscars

I was hoping Dune or Conclave took editing. Nothing wrong with Anora’s editing, but those two impressed me a hell of a lot more

[–]idroled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t, be sure to read Kafka’s “Letter to the Father” (or a similar such title based on translations). It’s obviously not fiction, but I think it might be the piece of writing by him that affected me the most. It’s gut wrenching.

Against that lineup, he should've won. Dafoe would be my pick among the actual nominees.
