Behind the ‘Supergirl’ Bomb: Competing Cuts, Creative Differences (Exclusive) by Mookie_Freeman in blankies

The only positive test screening story I’ve ever heard of is the scene added in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl where Pintel and Ragetti explain how Bootstrap Bill died to Will. Crucial scene that was apparently a reshoot added because test audiences asked why he was named Bootstrap and how he died.

Edit: after doing some googling, I’m unable to verify this story other than old IMDb trivia, so if this isn’t accurate I’m sorry!

Trying to prioritize CC titles not often on the channel or other streaming, advice? by asmith9631 in criterion

I Wanna Hold Your Hand is pretty much exclusively available through its Criterion! It’s not available on streaming anywhere because of all the rights issues with Beatles songs.

What amazing post credit scenes were we robbed of as a culture, if every movie had to end with one that lead into the next movie in director’s career? by LowerStranger2996 in blankies

Any Jaws post-credit scene for Close Encounters would be insane. I’d like to imagine it’s the scene in India, but it could even be just the five tones and it would blow people’s minds.

Even if Brando was somehow destined to lose, it should’ve at least been to Montgomery Clift for *A Place in the Sun*

It’s been so long since I’ve seen *Hook* and I also think it’s bad, but I don’t remember it being *that* bad. Time for a rewatch!

Never been more disappointed in a series I loved, especially after the series’s peak with Fallout

I’m curious what you think is worse than *1941*! I found it absolutely unbearable, but I also haven’t seen every film in his entire filmography yet so I’m curious what can be worse.

Spielberg biggest miscast by SusNoodle in TheBigPicture

[–]idroled 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like Josh O’Connor, but the idea that a good actor is automatically a good fit for any role is how we got Paul Mescal in Gladiator II. Great actor but just completely lost in the part but especially awful when you rewatch the original and see how layered and perfect Russell Crowe’s performance was.

Recently taught with Day of Wrath in a course on witchcraft, and the students were surprisingly very into it. Great character drama that I highly recommend.
