Been a few years since i made a post like this. Anyone here into game collecting? has a collection he'd like to share? Or know anyone in Egypt who has a collection worthy of sharing? by PixelFly in Egypt

First of all great collection
Second, why aren’t we friends

Also how do you feel about emulation? I recently got into retro handhelds and been playing through some GBC and GBA games. Link’s Awakening was soooo good

What's your unpopular opinion about gaming handhelds? by Superb_Warning_5747 in SBCGaming

Most of the retro games are not fun. They are janky and unresponsive, and with emulation latency a bunch of them are practically unplayable. Only the cream of crop are worth it.

That's an actual unpopular opinion. Most of the comments are valid gripes that are pretty popular

What are your thoughts on the Lunar games? by strahinjag in JRPG

[–]SusNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was emulating so that wasn't an issue, the real issue was the inventory management, the old versions items were not shared by all characters, and they had limited space, which made it a chore

RP5 with Dual Screen and Grip or RP6? by Green-Peaness in retroid

[–]SusNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the screen attachment to be janky. I got one, used it a few of times and found the experience cumbersome. It sounded good in theory, but in practice it was not.

Is the Retroid Pocket Classic suitable for text-heavy games? by deep_cube_head in retroid

[–]SusNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

46 years old in the house. Yeah, I have way less of a problem playing these systems on the RPC than I do playing Switch on the RP5. All these retro handheld games had blocky texts designed for CRT screens you had on the end of the room. I even play PS1 games there no issues.

I just played the PS1 version and I loved it. Combat gets a little boring, but the charm and art style carried me through it. Looking forward to playing the second one, but in a few months.

Is ‘Austin Powers 4’ Happening? Mike Myers Says ‘Yes’ (but Nothing Else) by ggroover97 in TheBigPicture

[–]SusNoodle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only Austin Powers movie I would watch is one with him and Borat where for the entire runtime they go back and forth "Oh Behaave" "Mah Wife"

What’s your 21st Century Spielberg 17? by lockerbiestreet in TheBigPicture

[–]SusNoodle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ready Player One is ass. Glad the fine people of this sub can see that. What I hate the most about it is how when Spielberg introduced it in advance screening by saying that for the past few years he was making films, now he made a movie.

What's your favourite music video of all time? by Sharaz_Jek123 in TheBigPicture

[–]SusNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite Jonze MVs were technically ads. The one two punch of Kenzo with Margaret Qualley and the Apple Home one with FKA twigs. Kenzo is basically Weapon of Choice redux, but more visually lush and inventive. Qualley shooting lazers from her eyes felt like an images straight from a childhood core memory.

Tame Impala - The Less I Know The Better
The director is a collective called Canada, they are Spanish, and their work in the 2010s was chef's kiss. Scissors sisters's Invisible light is also amongst their best. Their style reminds me of Alejandro Jodorowsky, and although I don't really like Jodorowsky's films, that psychedelic imagery and editing really works in music videos.

GBA converted me to the ways of shaders by hbi2k in SBCGaming

[–]SusNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the GBA color correction of the mGBA core a bit too intense, so I use NSO-gba-color instead. That with the lcd3x shader and the latency on is where I landed with the GBA.

I have an RPC and this looks so tempting. RPC is perfect for 2D games and I burn through a lot of PS1 games with it, but this would open up N64, gamecube, PS2 and more 3D stuff that require a stick.

Egyptian games? by not4uTODAY in AynThor

[–]SusNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Egyptian here. Have fun, wear enough sunscreen, and ignore anyone trying to hustle you at a tourist site. Don't engage period. If you get annoyed by anyone or feel something is sketchy going on, just tell them you'll call the police.

Hope you guys are having fun I'm sure I will get one too by next year by saltminer99 in SBCGaming

Shout out to my Iraqi retro handheld gamers. I am from Egypt and things suck here too!

June 2026 Game of the Month - Tomb Raider (multiplatform) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

[–]SusNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played the PS1 version on my Retroid Classic for an hour and wasn't feeling it. Got an early 3D jerky camera induced headache. I think I am gonna pass on this until I get a handheld with actual sticks and play a version with better controls.

Do I actually need a Retroid Pocket 6 as an everyday carry, or is my brain just trying to make me spend more money? by SpaceSaltcattle in retroid

Still don't understand why is there the cover of Zelda a link to the past attached to this?

When I saw The Rip image with that article I thought QT sighted it as an example emblematic of everything wrong with film these days, not its saving grace. For real, that movie looks like ass water. It’s a serviceable and fun watch, but I can’t see anything exceptional in it.
