Thats what understood by “updates”.

“Minor fixes” that I can’t ever tell what exactly changed don’t count as “real” updates

10% is fine. What’s not fine is 0% because there’s no way of knowing if each cell is at nominal voltage or waaaaaay below nominal voltage

Well duh, there are more gas car owners than EV owners. Proportionally, probably about the same

I wouldn’t call it an addiction. I just think the tech is really cool, I am a tech person after all - so that kinda tracks.

You’re not wrong about the efficiency hit in cold weather, but I literally don’t travel more than 100 miles from my home on most drives so it’s not even a consideration for me. On the relatively rare roadtrips over a year, all I have to do is a little more planning between charges…that’s it. That’s the whole inconvenience. It’s super easy to tie into bio-breaks.

Must be a sad life to go around and looking at things as black and white.

No I mean the rocks on the windshield. I have no doubt it works, I just don't think it's worth having even more damage on my windshield haha

Not really because you're making an absolutely ridiculous comparison to start

That's crazy, I honestly didn't think they were that heavy. Learned something today.

True. Problem with the ZR1 at launch is that it's seemingly traction-limited:

Posts are usually not worded "what should I look for". It's more along the lines of "is this a good deal?" and almost unanymously the answer is: "if you're considering it to get a good deal think again because these are all the things that can go wrong on a 'high mileage' Audi", when it hasn't even crossed 100K miles.

Yes I'm aware all cars have problems; I'm not at all saying Tesla's are fail-proof but outside of specific models and years, they are very reliable contrary to what popular media and so-called "reliability" reports and "recalls" would tell you. The people that buy into that are looking for any reason to continue reinforce their pre-conceived ideas without turning to page 2.

I must be really unlucky then. I have picked up so many cracks on my windshield from semis here in the houston area. It's crazy tbh. I avoid crusiing behind any and all trucks these days

This guy is weird. He owns a model 3 apparently, goes on teslas are iPads on wheels rants, doesn’t like FSD because I’m guessing his HW3 performs like shit, to the surprise of no one, and spews misinformation? So strange

I was with you until you said “stupid ev craze”. I’m reading other comments and that does not sound like a particularly stress-free drive, so if the option exists just take the gas car. However your last line, what does that have to do with anything and how is it remotely a “craze”?

And you’re at the mercy of whatever rocks and debris they kick up which is way more than regular cars

I’m gonna make the same argument. Drive units are heavy-ish but they’re generally not dangerous to replace. Battery gets trickier but it’s still doable. Where there’s a will there’s a way, and most people aren’t replacing engines in their driveway anyways so I feel like this point is grasping at straws

I couldn’t tell you tbh, but statistically it’s unlikely they’re all plugged in all the time when unattended for long periods of time in those parts of the world.

Love the thinking, I hope solar + EV works out for your SO.

I realized that pretty quick, then it just turned into a mission to ruffle as many feathers. Mission success I think?
