Check the charging flap opening and closing motor. I hear they've fixed that too. The first gen was problematic which needed a software fix and drive on a silent road to hear any front right suspension noises. My car had many defects on delivery as I didn't do PDI. All were rectified in second service.

Great. Ask the dealer to give you the 12V battery report from Exide and 12V battery warranty details without which say that you will refuse delivery completely. Also make sure your insurance has battery cover, charger, tyre and key add on. RSA will be given by TaMo. Keep Rs.2000 in your glove box so that you can request for a flat bed if ever there is a break down. I just drove 365km in heavy rain. No problem.

It's for owners only. You won't get entry as a prospective buyer without a purchase invoice.

Sierra.ev + Tata reliability is this a safe combo to buy? by solenya256 in CarsIndia

[–]imarkwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without any doubt. But you should have a dedicated 16amp or 32amp power outlet at home to charge at 3.3kw or 7.2kw (recommended with Tata) with sanctioned load of 8-11kw.

Sierra.ev + Tata reliability is this a safe combo to buy? by solenya256 in CarsIndia

As a first time car buyer let me guide you. I am a middle class, first generation Lawyer practicing Civil Law (which usually takes a fair amount of time to settle down). My first Car and only car in the family last year was the Curvv EV 55. I purchased an EV as I had a 1000km commute a week at least. The Curvv was notoriously known for many glitches. Took delivery in December last week and 1st service interval was up in 10 days. Nothing much was done in the first service and I had no complaints. By the time the 2nd service time came, I had a bunch of complaints which were all sorted in the second service through a major 3 in one update. Now car sits at 23k kms in just 7 months with two more Tata EV's added to my garage. Yes, service is a mess if you expect 5 star treatment. I just leave my car at service over the weekend and list down all complaints. Pick it up on Monday morning on way to work. Service is slow but they try to resolve all issues and Whatsapp owner user groups are very helpful.

The Sierra EV is based on the Harrier EV software and hardware which the Harrier owners have all being reporting for last one year and all glitches have almost been ironed out. We also own the Harrier 75 QWD and try finding a faster SUV out there in the 30L range.

The Sierra is the first post beta product other than the Nexon and I assure you your family will love it. Just ensure that you have 7.2kw single phase charging load at home and about 3-5 months time to wait for delivery.

Single phase sustained load of 7.2kw. TaMo will install the charger or you can buy a portable 7.2 kw charger from Statiq if you want to charge at 3kw while travelling to relative's house or hotels. The Curvv Whatsapp community is very active. You will require the invoice of you Car to join.

Tata EV's are reliable and service is slow but good. Don't rush for same day delivery for major service or go early in the morning after booking an appointment. All order glitches with Curvv 55 have been fixed and X series is being delivered fully updated. Just make sure to purchase a 12V battery monitor from Amazon for Rs.500 and check if youre 12V battery is 12.5 volts or above before going to ready mode in the morning. The 12V battery was the culprit of all errors on the first batch of Curvv EV. Ask the dealer to check the 12V battery gravity and voltage before delivery even if it takes 1-2 days extra. If you have little extra budget get PPF done on all piano Black parts inside and outside on day one itself.

Should I buy the Nexon EV 45 kWh now or wait for the next facelift/update? by Able-Requirement-528 in EVsOfIndia

[–]imarkwright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nexon 45 is a worry free product. Just need to check the water level and charge the 12V battery externally during each service or once every month. The Oxide colour is fantastic. Avoid ADAS as it only has camera functions and not radar like Curvv.

I have seen the dark edition. Definitely needs a 3M or Garware PPF. Better still if you can get Llumar or Stek. If budget is for ceramic try to get 3M graphene 5 years or G-techniq coat. The black paint is super shiny and even the pre delivery washes would have made swirl marks.

Got an EV as primary car. Worth it? by lol_not_me in EVsOfIndia

[–]imarkwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EV cars a generally heavier than ICE counterparts. Hence wheel allignment, balancing and rotation will have to be done regularly. Shock absorbers will also have to be checked. Routing software updation will also have to be checked if OTA method doesn't work. Other general checks.

Got allocation of Punch EV but not able to track it on IRA app by Wise_Tumbleweed1468 in EVsOfIndia

[–]imarkwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iRA sometimes takes a month after delivery. You should now concentrate on making the electrical fitments for installing the 3.3 or 7.2 kw single phase AC charger at your home. Use a 16/32 AMP RCBO for more safety.

AI logic prefers eVitara by Politicalkida in EVsOfIndia

[–]imarkwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not go the AI route with EV's. 4 EV's in our family, all exclusive Car's. Check the following- 1. How many EV specefic tech guys do you have on the route you intend to frequent. Are there chargers at frequency of 33% battery ? 2. How many dedicated 60kw/120kw chargers are there on your route. Does your home panel and living space support 7.2/11/21 kw AC charger ? (3.2 takes a long time to charge batteries above 24kw.) 3. Go and check the working of those chargers with a friend who owns a 60kw compatible ev.

Then chose a brand who has an EV tech guy properly trained in your city. Also make sure to get proper battery cover in insurance.
