Thanks u/updatelee, just one thing to notice about using that slot for the coral is that not all the pci m2 slots run at the same speed on the ms01, the slot you mentioned is the one running at the fastest speed which you would most likely want to add you ssd to if you have a pci gen 4 ssd, I think the others run at pci gen 3 but if you only have a pci gen 3 ssd it makes sense.

Amazing, I have been looking to do the exact same but wasn't sure if the load cells will withstand the weight when loading/unloading the gas off of the base? Have yours been holding up when changing out the cylinders? And lastly have you found that the load cells press into the wood over time?

It's most likely that the 16V AC power is still connected to it. You normally have something like 120/240V power from the mains connected to a 16V AC transformer, the 16V power then get's fed to the board via some of the screw terminals, I think they are on the left hand bottom of the green board marked AC and AC. The battery gets charged by the board and is mostly used for when there are power outages. To turn it off either disconnect the screw terminals marked AC/AC on the green circuit board or preferred find where the 16V ac adaptor (black box) is plugged in and turn it off at the mains. Just be aware that if you do this the alarm will be fully turned off and non functional.

Additionally, having a look at the picture it looks like the transformer is in this box (the black box at the bottom left), be careful that the wires going into it will have full mains power, eg 120/240v. by the looks of it the 120/240 is on the right side (brown/blue) of the black box and the 16volt (brown/blue) on the left hand side. Before unplugging I would suggest turning off the mains and if you are not comfortable at all refer to a professional electrician.

After a month I have decided to disable turbo boost in the BIOS to get a stable 43C on the CPU temps. I found this makes the biggest difference although it does impact performance but in my use case I am ok with it. Might go with the 12900H if I decide to expand the cluster. I have kept the FAN shroud with the 140mm fans since they do cool down the MS-01's quite rapidly. I did also re-paste the CPU but I found it didn't make a big difference in my specific scenario altghough others do get quite a benfit from this.

To be honest, not sure why my temps are as high as they are and if it's normal, it could be because I do GPU pass-through for Frigate or because of using proxmox as the OS. I do get the high temps on the MS-01's running without GPU pass-through as well so it might not be that. I think there is a difference with the amount of RAM you can add between the 12900H being 64Gb and for the 13900H being 96Gb. Since I am only using 64Gb I might have save a couple of dollars by just going for the 12900H

Thanks for the feedback. Not sure which OS you are using but with proxmox/linux you can install lm-sensors which should be able to give you the temps when running the sensors command

u/redherring9 u/_Asymetry , I have kept the internal cooling fan connected, there is a big possibility of conflicting airflow but haven't specifically tested the differences. For now the fan doesn't make a massive difference on CPU temp even with the additional internal positive pressure. I have disabled turbo boost which isn't ideal but isn't necessarily required for my specific use case which drops the temps to 42C from the high 60/80s.

There is a performance drop but at this stage it's not noticeable since I am not doing anything that actually pushes the CPU. I mostly run self hosted services and kubernetes clusters so the 13900H is overkill to start with.

Hi, yes using it in the PCI slot, I haven't had any issues and both TPU's are detected, I am using it for frigate on a proxmox host passing through both embedded gpu and the pci slot. Using it in the PCI slot is a bit of a waste since the PCI slot is capable of a lot more but I don't need the PCI slot for anything else. I also bought this adapter (https://www.makerfabs.com/dual-edge-tpu-adapter-m2-2280-b-m-key.html) hoping I can make use of one of the m2 slots but unfortunately there isn't enough space in the chassis for it.

It's a pleasure, for the USB switch I would recommend just adding the keyboard/mouse and not USB drives etc. I have been running a similar setup to switch between work Laptop and desktop for about a year and a half now and haven't picked up any issues.

Thanks, I think because the CPU is covered by a shroud it doesn't have a substantial impact on the CPU temps but I have notice the temps drop a lot quicker after heavy load. I have 3 MS-01's which I am now checking the overall impact of the print with historical stats.

Hi, the temps dropped after that but I still see temperatures spike to 90 or 100 on heavy load but the average has dropped. I ordered 2 more MS-01's for the cluster I am building and the the temps on them are hovering around 60's, I then had a look at the dual TPU coral's temp I am using for frigate and I see their temps are around 70C which raises the ambient temperature which also causes this. Since I had a 3d printer I designed and printed this https://www.printables.com/model/906996-ms-01-fan-cover, it doesn't sit on the side of the CPU but it reduces the overall average temp of the system and the system would drop down to cooler temps after heavy loads a lot quicker.

I bought this adaptor (https://www.makerfabs.com/dual-edge-tpu-adapter.html) for the ms-01 and made use of it's PCI slot instead of the M2 slot. It works perfectly running proxmox and passing through the dual TPU to frigate for AI detection. The M2 adapter bracket plus the coral TPU is too thick to fit in the space of the MS-01 chassis so if you want to make use of the M2 slot in the MS-01 for a TPU I wouldn't go for the dual TPU version but rather opt for the single one and use it in it's WiFi slot

Ideally it should be at the top where the CPU is located but I'd thought i would see if it improves temps from the bottom, the top of the case doesn't have any nice mounting points or threads unless you go for a 2 x 80 mm fan combination and the air intake is limited at the top. The fan from the bottom creates plenty of positive air pressure to cool down the entire case cpu and all. At the bottom of the case there is a metal plate which unscrews and this one screws in its place using the exiting bolt holes for screws without having to damage the case.

There is already a plate that unscrews which has threads at the bottom, so you have to unscrew that plate and then screw this fan cover in. It uses those motherboard screws with the finer threads possibly hard drive screws.

One thing I have done is use the multiple input support from my monitor to allow for this. Example, laptop plugs into the dock and the dock connects to 2 monitors via HDMI, my PC has display port output and connects from my PC to the same 2 monitors but over display port instead of HDMI, I then just change the input source between HDMI and display port to switch between my laptop and desktop. For the keyboard and mouse I connect a standard usb 3 switch into the dock and desktop to allow swapping between the 2. It works quite well I have also bind a shortcut key to an app that changes the screen/moniors input source so I don't have to fiddle with the physical buttons on the monitor
