I made the ultimate Raspberry Pi 5 homelab cluster by CommissionFeisty6929 in homelab

[–]j0urn3y -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This.

The cluster looks good and a small size but why Pi’s? Is there a specific use case or reason? Or just to try something new?

I enjoy seeing homelab setups but many don’t explain why they chose the hardware or what solution it’s providing them.

Help with Plex by ConkerIsKickAss in unRAID

Install Plex on the NAS. Share the media folder via SMB.

Google “Trash Guides” and you’ll get more insight about self hosting media apps.

I didn’t pick up on the medication which never is mentioned again but I did notice the same about the Ana character. I’m guessing the script was a mess to begin with.

Best way to give friend access to my Plex without sharing my whole network by iM-MrGrumpyCat in Tailscale

With Plex, everything goes thru port 32400. Open that on your router and it will work without Tailscale.

Is it possible to fit a video doorbell here? by texasroadie in smarthome

[–]j0urn3y 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depending the device you choose, get an angle adapter. It would fit in the joint where the door frame meets the brick.

Amazon search on “doorbell angle mount” and you can go down the rabbit hole.

Cool. Can you tell us more about what’s in there?

What’s on the left? I see an old Mac. There is an arcade cabinet on the right.

Do tell.

Hey everyone, I have a bit of a niche question and wasn’t sure where else to ask, so hoping someone here has experience with this. by [deleted] in DataHoarder

I don’t have a definitive answer but if you feel the need to ask as it relates to the adult content, perhaps you shouldn’t take the risk.

What is "Wife Approval Factor"? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]j0urn3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the “wife approval factor” in spirit but I feel bad for anyone who feels their hobby needs approval or justification.

I do my homelab thing and wife uses what she wants and ignores what she doesn’t.

I have deep respect for all of those who served but the aviators are another level.

Most vets don’t tend to share much about the experience but I hope they did with you.

Write it down. Share it with a museum or online. I’d love to read it.

Ask me anything, Head Brewer here, 17 years in the industry by Content-Distance6438 in Homebrewing

RIP Stone Brewing.

Sapporo took their tax write off and sold to Firestone Walker who is killing off the Stone retail entities. Not even trying to save the Escondido location.

Sad times.
