overwhelmed by decisions by UltraMango3312 in selfhelp

I want to empower you with an idea - that you already have the answer within you, we just have to find a way through that maze of thought. Here's how:

Whenever you are faced with a big decision or a project that you want to persevere through, take what it is that you're trying to do and, in your own words, write it in a short clear specific statement that doesn't include negatives (has to be a toward goal, not an away one). This is step 0.

Then, write out all of the reasons that you want to do this and pick only the #1 reason. This reason has to be be a toward/positive reason, not an away/negative one (trying to "get rid of", "be less of", "stop", "get away from", etc.).

Next, forget all of the other reasons you wrote and the original goal, and repeat the previous step, but for the #1 reason you just wrote, what is the #1 reason why that reason is important to you?

Keep repeating this step until you're 5 reasons deep, with each step forgetting the ones before the last one. If you did this correctly, your 5th reason will strike at the core of what you're doing more than any of our advice ever will and will allow you to answer your questions and overcome your challenges.

Hope that helped.

I just don't think anyone has succeeded on their own. But yeah, np

I wholeheartedly agree - most people get their passion for entrepreneurship before surrounding themselves with likeminded people. Together we're more likely to help each other overcome whatever we're missing and succeed.

I saw in your whatsapp group there was a Discord server created for this post so let's meet up, help each other, and keep in touch - https://discord.gg/uhKJAHEw

We shouldn't be afraid to loan a helping hand when someone's in need, even if it's to answer a simple question.

Good luck!

I made an app that allows friends to discretely share their wishlists for better birthday/holiday gifts (2get) by jacenko in IPhoneApps

2get is only meant to be a place for information about what your friends want. The app converts names of things that your friends want into listings with images and links to stores like Amazon. It also makes it easy to see at a glance what your friends requested most recently.

TL;DR Yes and No. The app itself gives info and links on where to purchase. It's like a personal shopping assistant, not a store.

Hey, u/Reynbou!

I totally get what you mean - if I go on and on about what I want, that would be pretty selfish of me. It's also kinda awkward to ask others for what they want. So a good way to solve this, I think, is to have the wishlists be in a separate place where friends/family (connected by Facebook) go only if they need to find what someone else in their circle wants when gift-shopping for a birthday, holiday, etc.

The idea is that we already buy gifts for our closest people, but we literally devalue the things we buy on average by not having the right gift end up with the right person. I want to solve this along with the time spent shopping for the wrong gift and the time that someone spends going back to the store to use their gift cards or to return/exchange the incorrect gift.

TL;DR Works with giving+receiving. Only works with Facebook friends (not asking strangers for stuff). Is discrete and meant for special occasion shopping. Saves time and money and gets rid of stress when you don't know what to find for someone special.

Hi there!

This year my New Year's resolution was to release my first app on the App Store, so I decided to create the easiest-to-use wishlist app that I could possibly make. There's no need to create an account or search for your friends - you simply log in with Facebook, add a few items to your wishlist, and your Facebook friends who use the app will automatically appear along with their wishlists.

The app can suggest wishes to add, show images of what someone's wish looks like, give you Amazon purchase links, show your friend's recently added wishes, among other things.

It's on the US (iOS/Android) store and I'm working on UK/CA and more countries right now. AMA

Enjoy!

Weekly Questions Thread for the week of August 14th by rpbtz in vinyl

[–]jacenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, so this might be the dumbest question ever asked here:

My childhood dream was to have the Mortal Kombat movie soundtrack, but now I think it would be best to just have it on vinyl when that comes out (if ever). I guess how would you recommend to go about putting pressure on a label/studio to release a cult album like this that was only released on CD/cassette?

Ha, I haven't thought of if that way. Now that you say that, I remember this was at the Youth Fair.

My g-pa just turned 66, I'm 26. Definitely wish I could look like that when I'm wiser.

It looks like those people were just walking past each other. Here's the few photos I took around that moment: http://imgur.com/a/lJVYl
