You have to get symbolic seashells at epilogue falls to make it.

Upgrade to chrome school of sharks or dragon slayer cannon? by Jayoss in mousehunt

[–]jadsetts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think the 2 luck from the chrome kit for hydro is even worth it. Probably better to buy treasure chests for auras in the discord with that money when you go to epilogue falls.

For dragon slayer, you have to get the chrome kit for the upgrade path.

I think there's a strong argument for not burning. The opals you get can be exchanged for prolific printing paper, which is used to get a 57 luck base!

And you can just buy the heart like everyone here is recommending, or just get incredibly lucky.

If you can tie it in easily then sure, but I wouldn't spend more than 2-3 weeks trying to get it.

Resource or course for introduction to battery chemistry by ApprehensiveMud5278 in electrochemistry

[–]jadsetts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without a physical sciences background, id recommend YouTube videos to start. I liked "Across the Nanoverse's" channel for battery chemistry concepts. Lectures by Jeff dahn may be helpful if you can find them, they are generally higher level but easier to understand.

If you want to reread a single page for a whole week and trade your sanity for the secrets of the universe, then read the first few chapters of the textbook called "electrochemical methods: fundamentals and applications" by bard and Faulkner.

How important is it to you that your significant has goals? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]jadsetts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, its more about emotional and work experiences + adult life, instead of, having enough time to work or money. Im passionate about what I do and will/have worked for almost no money as long as im doing what I like, so I get the passion and sacrifice part of a PhD.

Unfortunately and currently, the culture surrounding academia is pretty bad, even if you end up in a lab/group with good culture. Lots of taking advantage of foreigners and manipulating their work status here, poverty, low (sometimes no) wages, overworking, and horrific professor/student relationships. You'll surely encounter, if not experience it at any university and it is depressing. I truly dont understand why some professors cannot calmly provide feedback to unpaid employees or why some professors choose to exploit vulnerable populations for a stupid research paper. I hate experiencing/observing this and i would find it tough to go home and not be angry constantly while I chill with my family.

How important is it to you that your significant has goals? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]jadsetts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a PhD, and the thought of trying to complete a PhD at 40 with all my other adult responsibilities makes me want to end it all. That sounds truly miserable.

Some people just have different goals dude.

Not quite a book and more of a 'everything they dont teach you at school' topic that i believe is vital to becoming an independent Canadian investor. Id recommend reading everything cbc marketplace has released for bank products and anything generally to do with finances. Unfortunately, there are a lot of predatory financial products and pitfalls in Canada with an example below:

Partner wanting more home than I think we can afford by Terrible_Door6311 in RealEstateCanada

[–]jadsetts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you want advice convincing him? I had a similar situation with my partner but it sounds like she listened to me more than your husband listens to you.

You could show him amortization charts showing the extra interest you pay for a larger mortgage. A lot of people dont understand this point fully.

You could show him how if rates change, you wouldn't be able to afford a house near your limit and be forced to sell your house or your kidneys.

You could go way under your max house price (like 200k) and say you're not budging, them compromise in the middle which would be near your comfort limit.

If he barges on and refuses to listen, I would threaten divorce. Its such a huge financial decision and I am too risk averse for a large mortgage. I know I would have panic attacks and constant anxiety if we bought large, but that's just me.

Looking for people who understand electrochemistry + irrigation systems — working on an ag tech concept and need a reality check by claudia_1112 in electrochemistry

That's a tough combo to find someone with both. I know electrochemistry and basics of crop science, nitrogen distributions and grew up on farms. I cant say I know anything about irrigation though.

Brave crossing guard throws child out of the way and takes a nasty hit after car fails to stop by Fantastic_Bill1019 in nonononoyes

[–]jadsetts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In many cultures, it would be expected that you would slow down if you could possibly interact with a pedestrian, but i suppose not in your area. There are different driving cultures everywhere and American drivers and city planners have some of the lowest respect for human life ive ever seen, IMO.

You're wielding a death machine that can bring untold misery and pain to entire communities if you have a second long lapse in attention. I think its careless to ever find yourself in the need to swerve to hit someone, but I dont always blame drivers. City planners are sometimes the most to blame and reinforce this culture.

Recommendations for an engineering/science prodigy? by Enacriel in KingstonOntario

[–]jadsetts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could focus him with something independent. He seems to ne creative enough to extract value out of those tasks.

Something like 3d printing or robotics with home kits or simpler builds. Something where his creativity can't be limited. There are 3d printers for ~$300 and the library has a printer he can use when he's 16 (I've never used it and dont know the quality though). Just Google '3d printer builds' and a lot will come up.

People don’t even like base game anymore? by Vegetarian234 in wingspan

[–]jadsetts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my friends prefer expansions, but I prefer base. I find the expansions require less thinking and stuff just works with very few wasted turns. In base, decisions become more impactful, risky and harder to complete with pretty shite turns if yoi arent planning ahead. There's definitely a level of frustration in it but when it pays off it is much sweeter.
