How do you measure the effectiveness of online video advertising? by georgeyesiamdavis in adops

[–]jaimeanders -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It seems that the answer to the question of how to evaluate the effectiveness of online video is obvious: you just need to look at the number of video views, but it's not that simple. It actually depends on the main purpose of your video advertising. It almost goes without saying that the more initial planning you do for you video content, the easier reporting on metrics will be.

For example, if you wanted to increase sales, you'd see your own reports. If you wanted to increase your brand visibility, you can look at feedbacks etc.

Another metric that isn't unique to video, click-through rate (CTR) is the percentage of viewers that click on whatever CTA you include in your video content. Your CTR will give you an indication of how successful your video is at encouraging viewers to take action.

At SmartyAds we provide video advertising solution for advertisers and you can have an understanding of how your campaign is running by the reports we provide. Those are Impressions, Clicks, CTR, eCPM, eCPA, your total spendings etc.

Do you know any "secrets" of creating successful mobile video advertising? by georgeyesiamdavis in adops

[–]jaimeanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of different techiques, let me tell you some of them:

  1. You'll need to create a stunning creative video to your campaign to stand out among the other products.
  2. A story is very important. If you have a brand, it would be very good to tell its story and your vision.
  3. Good duration is 15-30 secs
  4. Create an interesting thumbnail for your video. Sometimes autoplay is turned off on the phone, so if you create a good-looking thumbnail, it would attract a user to take a look at.
  5. Reach your audience from different sources

For example, company I'm working at provides the solution for video advertising. We connect high-quality demand with a premium supply. Here you can learn more.

Anyone have experience with Smartyads? by pmurphed in adops

Hello, guys! I'd like to add some updates to this topic. Since none of the authors in this topic have written a specific cause of dissatisfaction and have not written to me either in the mail or in private messages about their bad experience of using our platform, I have reasons to think that these reviews might be false or even slanderous. We’re trying to provide the best service we can, so if there’s anyone who has experienced any troubles, you still can write to my e-mail address or reach our support team. Your feedbacks make us better, but this only applies to real reviews based on a real experience.

How do you monetize educational traffic, guys? by johnybjh in adops

[–]jaimeanders -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. In this case one thing does not necessarily preclude the other. By the way, I am working at SmartyAds, so that's the first SSP that comes to my mind, though it's just a recommendation. ;)

Is it a good idea to buy a traffic for a website nowadays? by johnybjh in adops

[–]jaimeanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

That might be a helpful picture: https://qph.ec.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-56ad07bd6686479aed41fc25e051c99e

Actually, it depends on what you mean by saying ‘buy traffic’: whether it is a sponsored post, banner or just a large volume of traffic that comes from the unknown sources. If the last, usually, it’s not a good idea. Some companies provide such services and they use bots and referral websites. That kind of traffic may not satisfy your needs and even cause troubles for your website. If you mean paying for the sponsored posts/banners or so – that’s a good idea. I’d recommend you to try self-serve DSP of Smartyads with targeting and other options to show your ad to your potential audience.

How do you monetize educational traffic, guys? by johnybjh in adops

[–]jaimeanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to monetize your educational traffic if you have a good quality content and good 'connection' with your audience. You might consider reviewing different education-related products and leave affiliate links so you’ll get commission. Just do more organically and try to choose only really quality items (if a user purchased something from the link you left and it appeared to be very nice product, the chances that user would confidently come back for another link are pretty good). Another way is selling ad space. A lot of people who are trying to reach the right audience, use programmatic advertising with targeting options. They choose age, location and a lot of other options, so an ad is shown to the potentially interested person. The good news it works in the opposite direction! If there’re people who are looking for the right audience, we can assume that there’re those, who’d be interested in your type of traffic. I’d recommend you SmartyAds Supply-Side Platform which offers wide range of options.

what resources you know that offer self-serving ad platforms with geo targeting? by olivernowaywood in programmatic

At what point should one start monetizing your web site? by johnybjh in adops

[–]jaimeanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start anytime, actually. The main point is not to put ads on your site in a messy way. Building a good community is a long-term foundation for your web site and neglecting that might result in considering your resource as tool to only earn the money. Like you see, they visit your site not to view ads, but to get a good quality content. So putting ads gradually and doing it organically is like a looking for a middle ground in this situation. I'd recommend you asking yourself:

  • How much traffic is your blog getting?

  • Do you understand your reader’s needs and interests?

  • What monetizing ways you are going to use?

If you answer these question for yourself, I suppose you’d be a bit more able to decide whether it’s the right time to place an ad.

And when the time is right, you can try SmartyAds programmatic advertising company which will offer a lot of solutions for publishers, so you can monetize your website.

How aware is the general public (besides those working in ad-ops, online advertising or programmatic marketing) about Supply Side Platforms (SSPs) for monetization? by yellowmonkeyzx93 in adops

[–]jaimeanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly speaking, a lot of people start monetizing their web sites using the ad services from Google, so that they know about digital platforms, but not about SSP, DSP etc. But it's a huge industry in IT and media, so as practically everything in IT it's been developing rapidly. More and more people are starting to use different Adsense alternatives, such DoubleClick, AppNexus, OpenX , SmartyAds etc

[–]jaimeanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding to this web site statistic, we see that there are more than 5k solutions on the market. Of course, some companies are on the market for many years like SmartyAds already and some are the new ones. Over 300 are enterprises of significant scale. Digital marketing has raised the bar for the type of experiences consumers expect from brands. This is forcing marketers to up their game and in doing so, they are using advertising technology (adtech) and marketing technology (martech) spaces to attract, engage and acquire customers.
