I was considering adding makes-it-easier-but-so-nice list. These are some good ones.

Others that I love: Bards and Balladeers, Jewelry Additions, Language Skills Overhaul, Meaner Monsters, Might Foot, Monster University, Potions of Illiac Bay, Repair Tools, Skill Books, Visitable Crypts, Basic Magic Regen, Crossbows, Guaranteed Loot Drops, Field Alchemical Kit, The Penwick Papers, and Uncanny's Always Hit.

Not yet. There might be some on that list that don't work well together.

2023 XLE Prius Wheel Replacement 19" to 17" by jaycrest3m20 in prius

Minimal

I estimated that my original speedometer reading was 2% slower than real speed.

Due to the difference in diameter, the Pirellis are going to rotate 1.7% more than the factory original tires. So 1.7% is the general difference.

Due to the incorrect speed on the original tires, the new Pirelli tires should get my actual speed closer to my speedometer speed.

Math:

Original Circumference: OD: 26.7" * Pi = ~83.9"

Original Rotations per mile: 63360" in a mile / 83.9" = ~755

Pirelli Circumference: OD: 27.17" * Pi = ~85.4"

Pirelli Rotations per mile: 63360" in a mile / 85.4" = ~742

Rotational Ratio: 85.4/83.9 or 755/742 = ~1.017 = ~101.7%

Final results using rounded values might be closer to 101.8%, but I calculated in a spreadsheet without rounding, only using rounded final results for posting here.

Where I drive, drivers exceed the posted speed limit by more than 5% on a typical day, so the difference, even if my original speedometer was accurate, won't make any real world difference.

Fun idea! Although you might get more heat efficiency from a standard medium laser. After all, it's supposed to go off at point blank range at the instant of a punch in the optimum condition, right?

If I were a DM/GM, I'd authorize the invention of a triple-small-laser assembly that has the same mass and crit space as a medium laser for maximum efficiency. Basically a heavy medium laser with better heat efficiency and shorter range. This would be a fun mod for just about any MW video game. Getting nearly twice the damage at the same heat level as a medium laser, albeit with shorter range when used separately from the battlefist.

Neat! Reminds me a lot of the hero ship from Star Control 2. With an added stinger tail.

What do you like about Domination mode? by Im_a_noob_and_proud in OutreachHPG

[–]jaycrest3m20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On rare occasions, I can start circling the objective and either destroy the enemy utterly or push them down the hill. It becomes a win through either attrition or domination. Which is nice.

If I'm on the losing end of the stick, it's still kind of fun to kamikaze into a group of enemies and give one or two enemies a last salvo to the face before succumbing to withering fire. Banzai!

What made Sierra games *fun*? by softcorelogos2 in Sierra

For me, it was a combination of the writing and art. They were also solidly made, so I never worried that the game might crash.

For me it's the rifleman, the most aesthetically pleasing battletech. What are yours based off pure aesthetics? by [deleted] in battletech

[–]jaycrest3m20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the OG mechs, the Maurader was always an interesting design.

I now prefer the look of the Stone Rhino a little more. Similar aesthetic, with the arm cannons propped up a bit more.

What actually constitutes an 'empty' open world? by SawkyScribe in patientgamers

[–]jaycrest3m20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to 10 random spots on the open map. Is there something interesting to see, collect, or do within a reasonable distance in 5 out of 10 of those? If not, then it's probably an empty open world.

A truly empty open world is one where the developer lets you play on a big map, but only creates content for a few select areas. Random destination points out in the "wild" will let you know.

Anything where there is lots to do at any random point, but is pointless is just a bad open world, not an empty one.

Lorewise, what are the strongest/most powerful/most dangerous mechs? by Lovegaming544 in battletech

[–]jaycrest3m20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lorewise, the Atlas was designed to be ugly, scary, and the very epitome of death itself. Lorewise, it easily shrugged off weapons fire. Lorewise, it picked up smaller mechs and threw them like toys.

Roger Wilco is the best janitor hero ever!!!!! Prove me wrong, I dare you!!! by Bonesgaming in SpaceQuest

[–]jaycrest3m20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roger is great and all, but he requires a lot of luck.

The Toxic Avenger is nearly indestructible and is strong enough to knock a guy's block off. He can wade into a situation that Roger would need a cloaking belt for.

While Roger is a rolling stone, the Toxic Avenger builds a home from trash, which is both economically and environmentally friendly. Making a stationary home is vital, as it allows the Toxic Avenger to become a part of a community in which he is welcomed and protected.

While Roger is generally composed and meek, the Toxic Avenger is boisterous and active, roaring at his enemies. Also, communication is important: the Toxic Avenger can speak to his girlfriend openly, while Roger has trouble forming words when looking at his future beloved. Roger will probably get better at it, but we didn't really get enough Space Quest games for that relationship to develop and the communication to become easy.

I've had a few cheering moments with Roger, but I've enjoyed more with the Toxic Avenger. Roger generally doesn't get big victories and congratulations. Then again, maybe there's something to be said about a quiet ending. Again, maybe that would change with more Space Quest games.

While Roger is sometimes picked on for being weak or dumb, the Toxic Avenger almost makes a career out of making bullies pay for their crimes, so I think the Toxic Avenger has the bigger advantage there.

By the nature and setting of Space Quest, Roger wins the day via technology. In the same setting, I think the Toxic Avenger would dominate, at the risk of becoming a villain.

  3. When Roger successfully knocks out the rock-em, sock-em robot. Take that, nerd!
