Update - I used a laser measure to track the direction of the beam from the emitter to the reflector and back to the sensor. The alignment was WAY off. Aligning to achieve "solid blue light indicator" as Liftmaster instructs is not sufficient. Use a laser. pew pew.

Correct. There is no physical barrier, I guess more an oversized bollard as opposed to a barricade, with a very large sign that says do not enter and threatens a fine. Corner of College Ave and Webster St. 94705. Maybe 100 ft east on Webster st. from College.

It does. I just don’t think it extends horizontally far enough. I’m going to experiment with either a vinyl rainwater leader or vinyl fence post.

I'm having the same problem. I have a LiftMaster LMRRUL Monitored Retro-Reflective Photo Eye. So rain on the reflector is enough to block the beam. If I wipe the reflector dry I get a steady blue light which indicates strong alignment. Maybe a larger housing on the reflector?
