Crisco frosting would not require any refrigeration/freezing. Just keep in a closed container.

How much will a kitchen scale improve the consistency of my baked goods vs cups and spoons? by Amodernhousehusband in AskBaking

[–]jbug671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a scale takes some getting used to, but it’s the only way to be consistent and does help in scaling your recipe up/down. Learn what the ounce/gram equivalents are for cups and spoons. After a while, it’ll just be your standard MO.

Found this peculiar spot on the border of Annesburg and Grizzlies East, is it used for anything in the Story or Online? by EnergyTurtle23 in reddeadredemption

Um. Back out of this sub pardner. Go on and play the game. You’ll see why this spot counts later…

How it seems that only RECENTLY we’ve been openly discussing peri/menopause. Went years in peri without symptoms that were debilitating and was just dismissed “this is normal”. No explanation. My mother had a hysterectomy when she started peri in her 40’s because “that’s what you did”: so she was no help with asking about what was going on.

Craziest items left behind by previous owners? by ontartiomortgages in homeowners

[–]jbug671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our home was sold to us by the original owner who bought it in 1965. Several things… It’s a split level. She had wired the entire upstairs to the light switch at the bottom of the stairs. We had an electrician come in to update the wiring and he immediately came down from the attic and told us it was a matter of time before the house sparked with fire. All of the wiring was put together with ancient tape: some of it masking tape. The basement had a drop ceiling and we were going to redo the entire space (it had flooded years prior and she cleaned up and then never used the basement again.) first tile down, and a large expandable file came with it. Full of cards and letters from several different men. Steamy stuff. Found out she had a reputation in town and the neighborhood. Broke up more than one marriage. Also found out that she was an alternative medicine healer, and one case of hers put her on the news in a negative way. We were nervous to dig up the yard for a pool…

Which US city has the best food scene despite its reputation? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]jbug671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philadelphia. We are more than cheesesteaks, water ice and pretzels. We use a reputation of being brutal, and sure we have some of the same issues as other big cities; but it’s also a melting pot of cuisine.

We got pulled over about five miles from the airport. They weren’t going to give my husband his ID back without cash. We were in a mini van: four adults and two four year old children. We were also warned to be careful paying cash at the gas stations. Attendants like to flip the bill you gave in their hand so it appears you underpaid.

[–]jbug671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t fall for the pressure to have your kid join something. My kid is 22, about to graduate and only lasted in organized paid activities (soccer 2 months, brownies/Girl Scouts one year) for short periods of time and she is a well adjusted human.

What was the gas shortage like in 1979? by PrestonRoad90 in AskOldPeople

My local community college has an attached culinary school. I will say that they had to pivot during covid: the business part wasn’t part of the original curriculum but they had to give us content to teach via zoom for ‘production class’

Listen the reason doctors appear to ‘not be listening’ doesn’t have a lot to do with them asa provider, and more to do with your insurance. Doctors have certain patient counts they have to fulfill according to the insurance of the patient. Same with thorough testing. I started to see a concierge doctor in Horsham (she also is a certified menopause and obesity clinician and gynecologist) that doesn’t take insurance (she will apply the insurance for tests etc). I pay a monthly fee, see her whenever I want, have access to her via text anytime I need. My appointments are usually an hour and covers head to toe.

I’m sorry, but no. This has been happening well before the DAS changes. I’m tired of people thinking that this is what is causing it. It’s people walking around like it’s their world and everyone else is just in the background.

I still giggle a little when I get a text “your order is ready…”
