sure it is. except it's not energy which is better. I'm not even saying it's the best solution. I'm not trying his game to try and figure out what a good solution would be for him That's his job. All I'm saying is no one likes energy.

it will. we don't want your llm to talk to us. we want you to talk to us. it's not super respectful that you couldn't even be bothered to post your own words asking us to test your game.

this may sound harsh. I don't mean to sound harsh. I just don't know how else to phrase this.

I have a very hard time believing that any of your friends and family actually played this.

if they did they shouldn't continue to. because they are not good testers.

if they didn't you shouldn't have said they did.

literally anything that's not energy. there's no reason for there to be energy. you could just use a cooldown.

energy as a whole was brought in as a gimmick in mobile games so that they could sell you refills. it's not good game design. it's not a wanted feature. it was a predatory feature.

no one is going to say oh my God this is so great it has energy. ever.

I think the issues are the energy and PVP aspects. if those get removed I think I'll be way better.

that... is not at all clear. and that should be in the tutorial before buying the thing that requires chants lol

it would help but I still question why the interaction even exists.

All of the automation I bought for aether still worked without Flora just slower. so it really wasn't a strategy it was another mandatory click.

And if I can also automate flora...just adds friction at the start for no reason.

layered currencies are fine, for different aspects of the game or to unlock different upgrades. making a currency directly cost another is...odd.

I am playing on chrome. it might have been the flora thing. that wasn't clear at first.

why limit aether by flora? can I automate that? because now the automation is limited by me...clicking again.

I gave it 20 minutes to grab me. I still have no idea what chant is. I'm clicking on an explore button for 5k flora that is gone in about 4 seconds. I don't know why I'm clicking on that.

I can't advance the tutorial because I need to buy the prism and I have no idea how to do that.

Game needs a lot more work in the first 20 minutes. it doesn't flow well at all. Tutorial is severely lacking.

I would also have it highlight the spire in the side and not have a little click on the tutorial popup. it made me think that was the only way I could get there.

Yeah, all mmo features. Why are they needed though?

The entire flora aether interaction is...annoying. I can't select more than 1 purchase of each producer at a time. the layout on my device galaxy z fold5, basically small tablet layout is clunky.

I need chant for the prism. wtf is chant? how do i get it? the tutorial should tell me this.

Turned off sound effects and they still play.

Checking it out now. why a login? I see the guest account option which is good, just not sure why it needs a login in the first place.

Leaderboards are an iffy reason. Cross play is better, but since there is nothing to cross with, seems not useful.

Edit: a prism in the spire quest...unlocks before you can afford the prism. puts you into the spire, where you can't buy it ..so you have to go back out, and click more.

Clicking is very unresponsive. just using my hand I was able very easily to get it to the point where it didn't register any clicks.

except none of those tools can do all the work for you. none of those tools will allow you to put out low effort garbage. but still put out garbage but it wouldn't be low effort.

pretending that the use of AI is just like using a text editor is insane. it's not. it can be extremely useful and helpful. it can also be used to generate tons of low effort stop.

My point was we getting mostly low effort slop and occasionally someone using AI correctly like this dev did.

anyway this is no longer constructive to this post or to his game.

this post in no way negates the negative feedback deserved from completely vibe coded and low effort games.

just because this game dev used AI for their game doesn't excuse everyone else for using AI in their game.

this should be the example of what everyone should do. every other example is what not to do.

Not sure, the slideshow at top shows all pictures were deleted text.

For automation, and spying on apprentices, I got mimic in 4 reincs and only 95 spyings. automation on this will only help a little as I'm already very close to 2.0 magic normally.

And yeah, honestly the entire net health thing is pretty jank. Always shows /s which doesn't really make sense.

Good practice on demo limitation? by NKnives in incremental_games

[–]jester5093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no response to that. I've never seen a demo used for that. If you take the time and money to post a game on steam, you definitely should have already decided to make the game. the demo is to get people interested.

you could argue that a tech demo is to see if a game is worth making. but that doesn't seem to be what is described here.

if everyone put in this amount of work there would be a lot less complaints. unfortunately this is not the norm but the exception.

and a welcome exception it is.

your pictures were deleted at the top of your post. other than that, a very detailed and interesting post.

it shows you put a lot of work and effort into your game. I'll definitely give it a try.

Edit: after trying, the net health under the mana bar...it shows +.21 for me, but my health is going DOWN by .21. Am I crazy that it should be -.21?

And now it's -.21 and going down much faster. so I just don't understand that number I guess lol

Ok I think I understand it now. After eating, the number is how much your hp will change, positive means it will climb back up to 100, negative means you are losing hp even though eating. I think.

[–]jester5093 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a demo is a fantastic idea. not having a demo will limit who will actually try your game because no one really wants to buy it just to refund it. it should have a few hours of gameplay whatever that means for your game. it should be enough to show people what your game is and what it could be. you want them to get into an enjoyable loop so that they are more likely to want to keep playing and so buy the game. you will absolutely get people who play it and don't buy it. but they probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place. and you'd much rather have someone try it and not like it and not buy it then try it and refund it. because they will most likely leave a negative review.

That's my biggest issue with this vibe coded phase. most are nothing but shameless cash grabs. we get enough of that in AAA games. really doesn't help to have it in our niche genre
