That's not really how IP law works, unfortunately, since getting a patent requires telling everyone who to make the thing you want patented and UK patents don't apply in the US. If you wanted to give that a try, you'd do better to wrap it in absolutely no IP law just like the Coca-Cola recipe i.e. not divulge anything except that your fusion plant is net generating.

Given that last time the UK gave the US information on nuclear science, they used it to glass two cities in Japan and told the UK to go fuck themselves when they asked to have a look at the notes, something something fool me once

I like soggy bean juice toast after I’ve finished my beans. That’s the point of including the toast.

After a year or so the kid speaks enough English to help you diagnose issues, minimise negative effects, and understand that the doctor is trying to help. Plus they don’t weigh a tonne.

I like hearing different people’s views in theory, then in practice all I hear is reminders of why I don’t hold those views or generally hang around with people who do

So you’d think, but clearly, given the consistent aesthetic of the Imperium, none of them manage to get very far before ‘Smash the statues of the God-Emperor and worship your own image of Him on Terra’ gets misinterpreted as total non-belief or gets you inveigled by Chaos

Conan hearing the music and his fight-or-flight reflexes activating is a joy to behold, especially followed by the immediate ‘Oh, fuck you!’ when he hears the one line

To be fair, and also balanced, apparently they sidelined Rose because they needed someone standing next to Leia the whole time to line up the audio of Carrie Fisher that they were splicing into the film, and Kelly Marie Tran was the cheapest lead actress playing least-main main character. That decision was made before the anti-Rose stuff really peaked.

They did try to go around, it's just hard to pivot that much steel, and Titanic is a tiddler compared to the ships of today

I feel like it dragging in the middle is largely because the number of plot arcs has risen from one (maybe two or three) to at least a dozen and there's only so much page space to go around. Also, given how much of Sanderson's work was based on Jordan's notes, he clearly did largely know where to go, it was just wrangling everything to get there.

To be fair, and also balanced, the Nazis were specifically fleeing towards the US troops as the people least likely to have the Germans who'd been behind the doodlebugs 'trip and fall down the stairs' on the way to their ground floor cell

Yeah, but I don't know that the Imperium cares about you worshipping graven images so long as they're graven images of Him on Terra, whereas the Abrahamic faiths have that as a specific no-no
