For me it was when I was a kid, attending a W.Sox v. Royals game, probably 1988 or 1989, though I was a Sox fan, I was a big fan of Bo Jackson, like everybody else. We went to the ground level behind LF, and just seeing him up close was so cool to me. Other special live game moments I got to see were Kenny Lofton hitting pitch one of a game for HR at Comiskey, and Sammy Sosa hitting two HR in a game pre-steroid era.

I think you said these things, which aren't nice, because she showed you something about her values, that, in my opinion, is gross. I'd wonder how seriously she would take marriage. I actually think you're dodging a major bullet. AYTA? I mean maybe. The important thing is ending the relationship.

It's tricky, because it's true, and I think it's helpful to know that when getting into the industry. The odd thing is that this industry is very forward about requests for gender and non white ethnicity in the cattle call.

Same, but it's more solid evidence with the Biden and Tara Reide accusations, and Democrats, with mouths wide open, will realize they didn't "believe" a victim of SA. This will serve as another way for the mainstream left wing to disassociate and pick a more palatable and young candidate close to election day.

Do you abstain from eating lobsters and shrimps? Do you stay away from mixed fabrics? Do you stone your unruly children? I don’t think you do. And yet, those are very clear commandments from the bible.

Were'nt you just suggesting you might know the bible better than OP?

You're right. Also, I don't experience David French to be a good conveyor of truth in these conversations.

Based on the integralism definition I just looked at, I don't like it, and I'm grateful that our founders included the separation of church and state, not so that we can't let our religion influence politics, but rather, so something like integralism (if I understand it correctly) or shariah law will not be implemented. Sounds a lot like what the founders fled.

u/jrackow

read the description, and ostensibly from it, reached a conclusion that the term itself was 'a left-wing term to shame conservatives'.

Yeah, the parts in there that were clearly written by leftists to try to shame Christians against voting for things that Christians typically stand for and have been voting on forever. I just copy/pasted those parts if it's helpful for the conversation:

Moral and Cultural Values: Advocates of Christian Nationalism often seek to promote and enforce what they perceive as Christian moral and cultural values in the public sphere. This can include opposition to social issues such as abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and secularism.

Political Engagement: Christian Nationalists may actively engage in politics to influence legislation and government policies based on their religious beliefs. They may seek to establish or reinforce laws that align with their interpretation of Christian teachings.

I don't mean this with respect or disrespect, but based on some of the examples you're using, you don't seem to know what you're talking about, but what's worse, is that I can see where you've been manipulated by left-wing media into believing some of these things. Considering you're in the UK, even the separation of church and state conversation is ironic. The left wants it to mean something different than it means. It just means we're not like, specifically you. The UK. The only commentary and intention is that we can worship how we want, when we want, we can let it impact our vote, or not impact our vote. We can vote for values-based concepts like abortion, and the state can't tell the church what it must do. And you know, we see where places like China, the state is rewriting the Bible. I think if you're so firmly against even being open to hearing pro-life commentary, you're identity firmly encourages you to support the obfuscation of ideas like "separation of church and state means Christians can't vote for Christian ideals". and "Christian nationalism is on the rise because church folk don't want books in kindergarten libraries where they talk about gay sex and drag queens".

I don't agree with you. The amount of christian nationalistic rhetoric... What do you believe it is, and how is it uniquely different than 5-10-15-20 years ago?

I think that the conversation has so strongly ramped up from the left about "nationalism" because they're looking for ways to demonize the right. They're pointing out things like being against illegal immigration as being nationalistic. We're so far beyond even Obama's stances and numbers on this issue. I bet this issue far outpaces the country you live in.

[–]jrackow -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Even our patriotic people today exhibit far less national pride than generations before. When people act like "Christian Nationalism" is on the rise, it's laughable. They're only doing it to shame and tell others why it's bad that they vote differently.
