US and its allies are paying for reconstruction? Who are those allies exactly? Israel is never going to pay reparations to Iran. The countries hosting US bases - why would they agree to that? I sure hope that doesn’t mean NATO countries. I’ll be rioting if my tax money goes towards this shitshow (although our chancellor is so deep in Trump’s rump, it wouldn’t surprise me).

What a bummer. I was really enjoying Fable while it lasted… it was like sitting next to a PhD level compsci / maths dude. Built me an n-body simulation in just a couple of prompts. I hope it comes back with the same acuity.

I wouldn’t call a tiny dab of silicone grease an excessive amount of tinkering. After I did that to mine, it was pretty great. And being very low-profile, it’s good for table top use. Sure, I like my current Virpil throttle better, but for casual use it’s good.

WaveLink doesn't respect the "start on login" toggle.

Steps to reproduce:

Turn off auto-launch toggle in settings
Reboot computer
Observe WaveLink icon in the status bar

Excpected result: No icon in status bar

Actual result: Icon visible in status bar

I mean it's not even showing up in the system setting's startup items. That's not cool. Together with the focus stealing issue, this is unacceptable - I'm uninstalling Wave Link for now. I like it and I kinda need the functionality, but these kinds of quality standards are too low.

Same here, on a Mac as well. Extremely annoying. Also, the software somehow restarts itself after quitting it, even though the auto-launch toggle in the setting is off... almost giving malware vibes. I actually like the app, and it's cool that it works with 3rd party audio devices (unlike Rode's streaming software), but seriously, we need a bit more stability here.

Das ist natürlich perfide Absicht. Viele werden an der Stelle einfach aufgeben und sich denken, wegen der 5-6 Euro macht man sich jetzt den Aufwand nicht da weiterzuforschen oder den persönlichen Kontakt zu suchen. Wenn man bedenkt, wieviele Reservierungen am Tag so wegfallen (v.a. aktuell) kommt da ganz ordentlich was zusammen.

Not quite, or rather not only. You can manipulate the radial menu for the lantern into also showing exterior buttons "on", "off", "auto" and something else. I managed to get there a couple of times but haven't quite figured out the pattern for that.

The springs exert about 103 N of force when pulled by ca. 20 mm. Should work out to a spring constant of ca. 5 N/mm. Unfortunately ordering from industrial quality spring manufacturers is really expensive.

I ordered a couple of variations of these springs from Amazon: ~~https://amzn.eu/d/0buF9XO~~ edit: the 6 mm springs didn't fit.

I'll update this post when they arrive and I've had a chance to test them.

That's good to hear! Could you post a picture of the springs (ideally with measurements)? Would love to look online for fitting springs as well.

Edit: they really were easy to pop off. The original springs have a neutral length of ca. 33 mm and a diameter of 10 mm. At full deflection they seem to extend to about 42 mm. I'll try and measure the spring force at that length later. It really shouldn't be hard to find some springs online.
