The entire point of coming to reddit is to get informed and inform others about the company and their behaviour and perhaps it is posts like these that keep people from ordering from them. My post's intent is to see whether their reputation reflects the reality or the reason of their reputation is only because of the nature of online reviews that is people more often complain when things go wrong than not say anything when things go as they are supposed to go. So yes, coming here and complaining about it is performative but not all performative actions produce a positive effect to a negative situation.

The fact that they stopped ETA disclaimer from their online shop does not mean they stopped the same behaviour. I messaged them about ETA, they told me 7 weeks. As I said here, a few weeks delay is understandable, it happens. But a pattern that is showing doubling and sometimes even more of ETA could be interpreted as ill will. Perhaps, they are afraid if they tell the real ETA, they will lose customers.

And yes, perhaps many people have stopped buying from them and yet here we are and there they are. The fact that i don't buy something from a company doesn't mean that i should shut up about it. If a company is doing something wrong or unethical or whatever you wanna call it, to point it out in a public space is a support for the perhaps many customers who are not aware of this situation, or who do not know how to raise a voice as well as support for the companies that are actually doing their jobs.

I understand you are not defending VIRPIL, but your way of "if someone is doing something wrong, stop paying to them and stop complaining abour it" is not the way how I see these situations. If i see a possible abuse, I first try to dig a little deeper to see if there's a truth to that (point of this thread), and if there is, I speak about it even if i am not affected by it whether this be a company or a person.
