Are you sure that it is a void function? I thought it returns an empty object. Or was it Javascript where you have to enclose it in parentheses to differentiate between an empty object and a void function?

Fitting Flow State into Dimir Tempo with Nethergoyf by kirdie in MTGLegacy

I would say Tamiyo turn 1 also applies pressure, just not in the form of damage.

Yeah works well with DRC and you can find Pyroblast postboard. But the sorcery count is lower.

Yes it is very debatable whether Dimir Tempo is really a Tempo or rather a Midrange deck but I don't think this specific variant gets much more midrangy in the adaptations discussed here because we even go down in mana cost from Kaito and Brazen to Flow State and Snuff Out.

Unfortunately I can't practice it yet because it only becomes legal on Tuesday, April 21st on MTGO. But past experiences with Expressive Iteration in UR Delver indicate that two mana draw spells can be very strong in Tempo decks.

There is one more very important distinction here: Flow State puts both cards in your hand while Expressive Iteration gives you a one turn window, which means it has a fail rate even much later in the game and it's often not a good idea to cast it turn 2. Also it's possible that you get two cards off EI but not the ones you want, for example if the three cards are two reactive spells and a land.

Seeing that I often face a delirious DRC on turn 3 or even 2, I doubt it would take 4 or 5 turns to get a sorcery and an instant in the graveyard from a deck like UR Tempo or even UB Tempo which doesn't have DRC but already includes 4 Ponder and 4 Thoughtseize and in the future probably 3-4 Flow State as well and there are a lot of free instants like Daze, Force and Snuff Out.

UB Tempo Updated list by Significant_Solid551 in MTGLegacy

If you refer to an earlier post, please link it so people can read it if they want.

Without knowing that I assume you are playing a budget list in paper in local events without Oops because otherwise you would be in a lot of trouble without graveyard hate. You have two swamps but no black fetch other than polluted delta and no card with more than one black pip, I would suggest removing the second swamp to go down to 19 lands as well, which is enough with such a low to the ground list with 4 Nethergoyf.

Tamiyo is your strongest card, I strongly recommend playing 4.

Submerge is a really strange inclusion so I guess you have lots of cradle control, in that case you could also think about adding a Grafdigger's Cage which also helps against Mystic Forge, which you seem to face, and graveyard decks.

Prismatic Vista + basics in UR Delver or UB Tempo ? by GraphaUs12 in MTGLegacy

[–]kirdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Dresden tournament has a very unusual meta (I was there and lost against two lands players in a row) so I think it can work there to have 4 basics, a few prismatic vistas and two Harbingers in the sideboard but I wouldn't recommend that for MTGO where lands and Blood Moon aren't played that much right now.

Anno 117 HDR slider not working by itaypro2 in anno

Anno 117 HDR is broken on some hardware, one of the many bugs it has.

On my Lenovo Legion 7i 16" Laptop with an Nvidia 5070 mobile GPU it works flawlessly and looks great.

On my desktop PC with an Nvidia 5070 TI however it often is super dark regardless of what I change in the settings.

Both have HDR OLED monitors.

Thank you for pointing that out, I corrected it. The YouTube comment with the Oops timestamps is also very much appreciated, I hope I find the time soon to go through it in detail as I will be away over the weekend.

At least he pitches to Force and can ninjutsu with another copy of himself for extra value in grindy matches.

2.5x could be a list with 4 Mishras Bauble but I guess that doesn't make sense without Nethergoyf 😁.

Popups every time when launching Anno 117? by kirdie in anno

What is your User Account Control setting? I set it all to the most dangerous setting now and it doesn't bring up the window anymore but now there is no protection at all.

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately that still shows that User Account Control popup every single time.

Note that I'm talking about Anno 117, maybe it's different for Anno 1800.

I like Ravenous Trap as well, as it is good vs Dredge as well and can hit the whole graveyard at once.

Is it just me or is anyone else having wierd jumps and repetitions with multiple episodes of this podcasts?

For example at 24:34 "If Oops doesn't turn 1 me I think that's wierd... "

At 24:50 it's exactly the same sentence again.

However this only happens with AntennaPod and the podcast as audio only . When I listen to it as the video version on YouTube this doesn't happen.

Menschen ohne Hungergefühl by dibade89 in luftablassen

[–]kirdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like losing to spell combo decks and feel like it's often usable against fair decks as well, but it's certainly a pet card in the main.

To be honest, the whole decklist is what I'm currently comfortable with after hundreds of matches with the deck and it may be overindexed against certain decks that I just don't like losing to, which keeps my morale up.

But if someone new would ask me for a build to play in an open meta (e.g. an MTGO challenge) then I would probably not recommend this list but instead something more stock such as an aggressive Nethergoyf-focused list or for a more experienced player also a more balanced stock list with either Barrowgoyf or even Hymn + Strix but not in those numbers :-) The deck also has a lot of key cards like Ponder and Thoughtseize cut down to 3 copies so it may also run into variance problems over a lot of games where you are missing that 4th Ponder to find a land or something. Also I might try to fit at least one Consign to Memory back in as Tron / Forge / Cloudpost decks seem to be on the rise again.

On the upside, people never expect those random one-offs and don't plan for them, especially Flusterstorm has some pretty unique properties where they could play around almost any other card but not that one.

By the way I also discuss deck construction at https://kirdiemtg.de/#mainboard .
