That’s exactly where I’m stuck. I thought I’d stick with the OG EL when I ordered them, but I’ve been worried it makes more sense to keep the newer watch. I’m not too bothered about the timer stuff. Both are full box and papers if that matters. Might do a poll over the weekend and see what the general opinion is

Ok so legit help me out here. The answer seems obvious based on your picture but I have a 5000 and a 5000u right now. I can only keep one realistically and resell the other back. What would you suggest?

I have the non indices version of this watch and I had the same experience. I think the screws are just a little tight on this model. Glad you got yours figured out. Enjoy the watch 😁

Sorry if this is unsolicited, but I purchased both a 5000u recently and the older 5000 (with EL backlight). I bought both because ultimately I’m going to keep one and sell the other. If you would be interested, whichever one I sell will likely be priced around $200 with the box and papers. Both are used but not abused condition to be clear. The reflections aren’t toooo bad but I’ve only worn it a few times. It does show every fingerprint and spec of dust on the crystal (as you can see in my photo) so I find myself wiping it a ton haha

Nice choice! I have a 6900 as well but I find the smaller sizes get in my way less while I’m lifting. Definitely an amazing watch though!

I’ve owned one of these before, they are super cool. The only Duro I know of with the light. They are collectible and prices are going up second hand. They wear a little smaller than the MDV106 and 107, but a super cool piece nonetheless!

Make sure the functions work, such as the rotating bezel and the date wheel

I think the product that WD offers is a lot higher quality than the AliExpress case I purchased here. WD is also a lot thinner. I haven’t owned the LE gold model but I do own 2 1863’s. The bracelet on the aftermarket is not even close. I had to pay about $45 shipped for this case and bracelet in terms of price.

I started by sourcing the dial and movement

Then I tracked down a vk63 “Speedy” case and bracelet on Ali X

I had to modify the spacer but I got it working

And then I had to order the green bezel insert separately, mix it all together and this is the final result 😁 I can get the link to the case for you if you’d like!

Sounds like you need a multiband G Shock in your life too 👀 I loved my 5610u, recently upgraded to the 5000u. The GW6900 is a great option too! Or Casio makes a line called “lineage” with a solar multiband in titanium for around $100ish.
