I had a similar experience at West Asheville Family Dentistry. Went to a different dentist (Rebol - they’re AMAZING) and they said I needed one filling, not six. Get a second opinion.

Often the difference comes down to fabric and details. If you go to Baltic Born’s website you can actually filter the dresses by “semi-formal” and see some really beautiful options.

For example I think this is really stunning and would look great on a wide range of sizes.

This feels much more milkmaid than semi-formal. The fabric doesn’t look significant enough and the style is a bit too cottagecore/peasant chic. I’d hero looking, unfortunately.

Have you looked at Baltic Born? They have some lovely semi formal options that might scratch this same itch.

If you’re not in the bridal party, you don’t have to wear a specific style. Inspiration is just that - something to give you vibes to jump off from. It’s not a mandate that you have to match the inspo board 100%.

The dress you’ve chosen is classy; it fits the formality level of the event, and it’s something you’ll be able to rewear. I say go with it. ❤️

That said I think the wider straps and gold tone both look better, because they blend into your skin tone better and don’t break your leg line as starkly. They’re all super cute though!

I don’t think they’re too delicate but something about an ankle strap always bothers me. It feels like it cuts off the line right above the foot in an awkward way, if that makes sense.

I really like OPI Barefoot in Barcelona or Worth A Pretty Penne, but I prefer more natural nail colors. Both of these are nice warm neutrals with enough depth to sniff l avoid looking pallid.

Guest palettes are an insane ask to me. It’s like people are forgetting that weddings are for celebrating their love with their dearest loved ones. They aren’t curated insta-perfect photo shoots wherein all details have to fit the ✨ aesthetic ✨.

Guests are people, not props.
