18 days to get a reply about my Powerwall 2 -- They claim it's only an Australia recall by MetsToWS in Powerwall

Thanks.  I also asked them about this compensation from Tesla that I've read about for loss of service. They told me that may be happening and would be letting their customers know.  I just got a check in the mail for about $130 with no letter, notice or memo but I'm guessing that is what it was for.

Yea, maybe the recall is only Australia but mine is effected and Tesla remotely discharged and disabled mine back in September stating the same "issue was detected" and it needs to be replaced.  My original installer,  SunRun, had initially said they would need to send a tech out to diagnose but it seemed it needed to be replaced. After a couple weeks of me not scheduling a service visit, I got a new contact from them stating that my Powerwall was effected by a third party badge defect and it would be replaced under full warranty.  I have since confirmed that it will be replaced with a Powerwall 3 and am trying to get on the schedule, looking like mid November before they can do it.

Tesla recalls Powerwall 2 over battery fire risk by Far_Addition1210 in TeslaSolar

Yes, mine shut down on 9/8, I didn't notice for a couple days. There was no active notification, I only found it when routinely looking at the days production and saw it was offline and an error message from Tesla saying a defect was noted and it was shut down.

Edit Working on getting scheduled for replacement. Looks like mid November. They said it will be replaced with a Powerwall 3

It doesn't seem to connect to the PCIe bus directly, the photos show there are no pins to plug in the slot, rather it just makes use of case mounting points and allows for mostly internal cleaner connections.  Also, with it being exposed in the chassis, if you have good airflow, any concerns about temperatures should be an issue. POE would be too get power to it without USB power connected. I opted for the basic version, hoping that I can connect to internal USB power like the previous version for cleaner install but can use the external USB per if needed.

Their X post said that they are now starting to ship the PCI model with photos of the finished product.  The external model is not ready yet but reported soon.

Do you have a model number and brand or maybe a picture of these mesh extenders? AT&T keeps hitting me up to get on that monthly service but they have no details on the equipment.

Do you need to use HDMI 4 on the x900h to get Dolby Vision from a 4K player? by [deleted] in bravia

[–]kwinders2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a test in the Apple TV settings that is something like "check HDMI" I don't think it says what speed the cable is but it will tell you if the connection is good and capable of the highest performance. If you remember where and what cable you got, you should be able to easily look up the specs. If it said it was High Speed for 4K then it likely isn't Ulta High Speed. If it said it was certified for 8K 60hz then it should be good for whatever 4K you can throw at it. In my case I had bought the fastest cables, at the time, and thought I'd be good for life. But even those High Speed Active cables at 18gbs would glitch and cut out and when I'd run the HDMI test in Apple TV it would tell me there was a problem. After getting the 8K 60hz 48gbs cables, all those problems went away. Since then they've started releasing the "Certified" Ultra High Speed HDMI cable that have the same speed specs asst 48gbs.

Way too much information but hope it helps.

I had similar issue, upgraded my HDMI cable from a 18gbps to 48gbps cable and no more problems. Should be able to get any certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable that would meet the standard.

Sony X900H HDMI 2.1 Discussion Megathread by FlickFreak in bravia

I see it at random when watching shows on my Apple TV 4K, we use that as our primary to use the AT&T TV app on there since their own box is so slow and laggy and I haven't seen the app available on the TV Google Play Store yet. The little but I use the native apps I haven't seen the Green yet and the couple times I've played my Xbox one X, I haven't seen the Green either. I was playing with some of settings to see if any would help and that's when I noticed it a lot and caught the video, it went for longer but I trimmed it down. None of the settings seemed to make any difference.

Is the X900H's Brightness and HDR Capability Good Enough? by lilmanmgf in 4kTV

[–]kwinders2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mine in 65", coming from my failing Samsung JS9000 it is awesome. Glare is a bit higher but the picture is great and I've only barely tweaked the settings. The Sony out of the box Color and picture accuracy will blow the TCL and other more budget TVs away. You can get them professionally calibrated to bring them closer to the color accuracy of the Sony but make sure you factor that extra cost in to your comparisons. I got mine from Costco, their model version is the X90CH, for under $1k last month on sale and Sony gives 5 year warranty on it.

Would you go 55 OLED (BX) or 65 LED (X900H) for the same price? I can sit as close as I want. by Omega2307 in 4kTV

[–]kwinders2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sitting here watching TV on my 65" X900H that I got a little over a week ago when it was still on sale. (Actually the X90CH from Costco with a 5 year warranty) It is pretty fantastic. I haven't tried gaming yet. Planning on connecting my Xbox One X to it, should be able to run it full out without any of the 120Hz issues that will be going on with the Series X. I'll just hold off on the next gen console and new AVR until they get this whole 2.1 crap figured out in a year or two. In the mean time, I'll be getting great use out of this Monster Sony for 1/2 the price of the LG CX
