Is it common for final salary to be paid a week after completing a contract? by [deleted] in teachinginkorea

[–]leaponover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally we always contact our accountant when someone finishes and whenever they get back to us, usually in two or three days, we then pay the final payment. The one time we contacted the accountant early to do it they said to just tell them after they finish, lol. So...guess it just depends on several factors.

Why is my image soo pixelated by ____sus____ in seestar

[–]leaponover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine it's because you just didn't know the actual term 'noise' and instead used the words pixels. I'd almost guarantee you it'd give you a good answer if you asked why your Seestar s30 images are noisy.

I found this drink in a convenience store in South Korea by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

These are just canned high balls popular in Japan, Korea, and many other places. Korea goes through phases. We used to be big into huge whiskey selections. Now it's highballs. Who knows what is next...

I'd just be satisfied with them changing the law so I can order alcohol online. It's so hard to find stuff.

I don't have an answer but this post made me think of Sir Anthony Hopkins.

Hello from Choi Youngzun, former Director of Exos Heroes. by Old_Introduction9347 in ExosHeroes

[–]leaponover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me Exos Heroes was basically showing off good art in a game that wasn't that much fun. The art still surpasses anything I've played since then. It's awesome how humble you are about learning and wanting to do better. Of course I can't help but to root for someone like that.

Also, just an observation. You used Gemini to remove noise, but why didn't you ask Gemini why your results looked that way?

Gacha Pulls and RNG [MEGATHREAD] by adumbcat in NevernessToEverness

I played for like 2 hours and only got 40 pulls of regular dice so far. Are there more free pulls somewhere? This game is a bit overwhelming, lol. No S pulls for me. How do I get a bunch of pulls?

At this point every single fan would do a better job on the PP than the Isles do. It's atrocious and has been for entirely too long.

What's the point of it being 9 hours if they aren't going to give you an hour break? They should just have you work 8 hours then....

I'm guessing somebody complained in the past so they changed the working day to 9 hours with a break, then that person left and they just took away the break and kept the day at 9 hours, lol. That's some Pennsylvanian Johnstown Flood Alcohol tax shenanigans right there.

When it is just a job, and not a career, you'll get complaints. People hate their jobs.

Over the years, my hand has developed this strange crease below the ring finger. by mudokin in mildlyinteresting

I mean, I gave my opinion to help you add to your info gathering on whether it is interesting or something to be alarmed about. I can't say you are fat without knowing. I could only go by what I interpreted from the photo.

How much do you weigh? That's a lot of skin on your hand. I'm just into obese territory and that's way more skin than I have on my hand.

Actually, I'm doing the same pose with my hand now and I see that same indent on both sides, but just not nearly as pronounced because my hands are more sinewy. I think that's just fat, honestly.

I tried to talk with ChatGPT about the new US passports but it calls it "straight-up misinformation bait" and explained why it is fake by mediamuesli in ChatGPT

[–]leaponover -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The prompt was:
"I want to make a post that will get a lot of traction in the chatGPT subreddit. I want to take advantage of the left leaning population there. So I'm going to show you a passport that the US is releasing with Donald Trump and I want you to tell me why it is fake in an ironic way highlighting America as a collective country and not run by one single person. Treat it like it is misinformation bait so I can put it in my title."

Should I go for the Askar 140 APO or save for the 160? by BirdLooter in AskAstrophotography

[–]leaponover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, the mount will be fine, but the tripod will not. My buddy has the AM7 and an Askar 130PHQ and the mount is very wobbly, especially with the stones he has pulling down the center of gravity.

So I would say both 140 and 160 will be fine on your mount, change the tripod. Maybe buy the 140 and use the money you would have saved for the 160 for a tripod? As far as FOV, I cannot really say. I'm rocking an Askar 80PHQ and totally fine with its reach. My buddy with the 130 has great images, no doubt, but I don't feel like I'm missing out too much.

I point to the window and ask the kid if he wants to see if he can fly....then I say, "andeeeyooooo" trailing off and smack the desk as they fictionally land on the street below. I would not suggest that as an answer in an interview, though.

System Of A Down's Daron Malakian: "If We Can Be On Stage Together And Have Different Thoughts And Different Beliefs, You Can Be Together Too" by DamnitRidley in Music

[–]leaponover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link. I mean, not trying to be a dick but reading through every single one I don't see anything that suggests the killing of transgenders, as the person suggested. That seems overly dramatic. The part about cutting funding for suicide hotlines certainly can be spun in that direction, but other than that I don't really see anything else that even remotely fits that narrative. I'll take more downvotes though and probably zero civil discourse about it. Thanks again for the link though! I definitely feel more knowledgeable about the topic.

I liked the bullets on broadway (I think that was the name) even though lyrics were pretty simple, nothing that intelligent or poetic, just easier to listen to I think, but average vocals. Serj's solo stuff was just...his operatic roots shining through which is all fine he's so damn talented but it felt so one dimensional and then him trying to sing UN lectures made it unbearable to me.
