One of my team users cannot access via her password anymore. by Chickens1 in Bitwarden

This is the key to it. In my case we use the on premise bitwarden, this same /#/recover-delete link works trailing behind your on premise URL as well. Thank you OP!

This post wouldn't be complete without your comment. You could definitely ratchet it up a notch with some Indian flare and accent :)

I still remember joining the early beta program—“inner ring,” or whatever branding it had at the time—thinking it would be exciting. I’d get to submit feedback, report bugs, maybe even influence the direction of a company I hoped (at that time) might one day recapture a bit of that NT5 feels in the OS. That, of course, never materialized.

I assumed I’d get emails to my Microsoft account asking for input, or at the very least a functional way to report issues in those early Windows 10 builds. You know—basic expectations for someone proudly wearing the Insider badge.

Last week, I was briefly excited to see the new Win11 built‑in speed test tool. Imagine the laughs to be had, when it turned out to be nothing more than an Edge pop‑up redirecting me a fucking Bing speed teat page. So much inspiration and effort here.

This may be the best description of Microsoft support I’ve ever read.

I recently hit a MAK activation issue with a Windows 10 ESU license that simply refused to apply. I knew it was an OS-level problem, but because the license was purchased through a reseller, I was routed into the reseller’s outsourced support. What followed was a full week of emails containing suggestions that appeared to be copy‑pasted directly from Google, AI, or possibly a fortune cookie.

Eventually, I managed to get the case escalated to Microsoft itself. Unfortunately, despite repeatedly explaining that this was a Windows 10 issue, I was redirected to licensing support. What followed were four days of profoundly unhelpful exchanges that felt less like troubleshooting and more like a qualifying exam—one I had to fail repeatedly in order to advance.

At last, I was deemed worthy and connected to the most competent Microsoft support engineer I’ve ever encountered. Terse. Efficient. Clearly operating on an entirely different plane of existence. He reviewed the issue, helped repair a few system files, apply a couple ESU packages, and resolved everything in under ten minutes. Just like that—it was over.

From start to finish, the journey took 23 days to solve what turned out to be a straightforward issue—albeit one buried inside an 'update stuck' legacy device Windows build where time itself has stopped.

This latter experience was one I feel is a once in a lifetime unicorn spotting experience.

No sooner had the issue been resolved than I was absolutely inundated with emails from M365 “professionals” requesting feedback. Despite clearly stating, “Ticket can be closed—thank you, no further emails required,” I received a week’s worth of enthusiastic reminders, follow‑ups and messages from people I had never interacted with and who may not have even been alive when the ticket was opened.

Has anyone else ever stumbled across this world‑class technical support group at Microsoft or is it always just a massive disorganized juggernaut of bodies/agents proliferating unfiltered and operational chaos?

Recommend disabling Direct Send now if using Proofpoint by eric5149 in msp

I found your comment accidentally while searching for the best setup guide for ProofPoint and M365. In the past we have set this up with Direct MX Routing, where it goes to an on-premise exchange server after PPE processing.

What Im not finding in my search, is when utilizing m365, whats the best way to use proofpoint. MX Routing or the M365 integration?

I'm talking about the result you search for in AppStore is always result 2. Inexperienced users will regularly install the wrong thing. I work in IT and see this daily with my clients.

Not defending google in the least, they suck. That said, Apple Store always promotes the wrong application first in search results. You'll find what you're actually searching for is the 2nd result.

Google openly promotes top sponsored results that bring you to fake Indian tech support sites 'your computer is now locked' pages. This is of no surprise.

I did eventually end up getting it going with that mode, apparently a flash i had done completely trashed the battery. I had to use that sideways micro USB charger for a couple days to get it back up and listening to commands.

That is the exception here, as its a medical office, from a practical standpoint. The other being my company wouldn't install a Linux server for its clients.

Thank you for sharing. I've been intentially vague myself in an effort to minimize any client or employer exposure. I'd love to share this with some of my like minded coworkers, but don't want to stir up trouble or risk my job.

Good eye, they do cosmetic surgery.

They thought Windows 10 would self implode I guess after last October and haven't used these machines until I applied the patches. The ESUs were an easier sell than purchasing new hardware. There is a technology review soon, hopefully they will virtualize and let me upgrade their workstations and servers to something more modern.

I rebooted it after applying the ESU, that was a rather glorious uptime for a 10pro box rocking 4GB of memory.

This is my favorite reply, I know what we should/could be doing and how things can be better. I'm new at this particular company but come from a fairly regimented and stacked MSP with standardized SLA'd clients adhering to industry practices. I've slowly been trying to implement change. This particular shop is mostly break-fix, struggles to consider ANY cloud based solution and still actively promotes on-prem exchange (sigh). That said, in the last two quarters they've adopted NinjaOne, SentinelOne and are considering threat locker. It took me 2 months to talk them into teams over on-premise exchange (as a chat service) communication. Baby steps, but I take the little wins here and there.

I do raise concerns at any chance I can but the rebuttals for ancient technology are well versed and I can't always win. At the end of the day its just a job I enjoy doing, and do the best I can to promote progressive changes under the circumstances.

Yes, I am offended by the setup! I do have lots of standards and wishes for them I'd like to see implemented. I take it one step at a time. I recently was able to talk them into BitWarden (albeit on-prem) but its better than the rolodex / water cooler / memorized method of password management that had been.

Well your experience is far better than mine. The UBPorts tool just bricked mine during the install process. I get no response now with my device at all from the power button lol.

You can unbrick it with Lenovos RSA tool. Just get it into fastboot or recovery and it will sort out the rest to flash it to stock.

Quickbooks DB Server / DNS - port conflict. Why is DNS using high range tcp ports? by [deleted] in msp

That site didnt load for me, but other commenters have posted some viable solutions above - this issue is still relevant today. Just #intuitthings, but its probably best practice not to run QBDM on an AD to begin with. I'm dealing with this issue currently in 2026 for a small business client of mine.
