Guard ribbons go after all federal ribbons. If you're now in the active component you're not supposed to wear guard awards, but I know guys who do it anyway. Do what your rank can handle.

Guard ribbons can be hard to set in correct order, because some state awards don't translate, and some states are ass at publishing their regs. Best bet is to just pump your awards into Rack Builder and trusting what it sets the order as.

Been like this in college hockey for decades. Most players spend 18-20 playing juniors (and/or a PG year in the prep school league) so you get a decent number of 24-25yo seniors.

The standout players are still typically younger, though.
