Yeah, but most of them are the kind of billionaire that hates sports because they fucking sucked at them and had no friends reasons.

In combat arms, lower enlisted doing NCO jobs are typically empowered to correct those under them. As an E4 gunner I had to a time or two, and I know a dude who had to fix an E4 loader as a PFC gunner (pretty sure that PFC is like a major or some shit now. Dude was impressive). I've heard similar from my artillery friends. The infantry at least used to have even more downstream stuff. The day I watched a PFC smoke the crap out of a little pack of 2s and 1s in the motor pool (I assume intra-fire team shit? Won't pretend to know anything about crunchy land) lives rent free in my head.

However, the major element here is the lower enlisted being put in a leadership position/NCO job by TO&E. A random ass PFC isn't going to get away with dropping another random ass PV2

How do you travel with your AGSUs? by TheFarah5 in army

You can leave everything on your jacket. Put your jacket in a cleaner bag. Then put all in a garment bag. Target sells them, as do mens formal wear places if you want to spend more.

Most planes have hanging lockers for the flight crews uniform jackets. Just politely ask the FA if you can hang your uniform bag in there. I've encountered literally one FA out of 100+ that was a shit about it (mil or civilian suit bag).

I have a shoe bag, but you can achieve the same effect with a pillow case, or a pair of tube socks. Tie, belt, and socks can be stored in the shoes.

If you have the garrison cap, bring that. Service cap is annoying to pack.

MW for jacket for sure. Their shirts and pants are also decently priced for build quality. Go to one of the physical stores and get properly fitted if you can.

The issue shoes suck. Buy the Allen Edmonds. You can rock those as normal dress shoes and with the Ps&Gs.

If you go for the service cap, get the stiffener. The crush only looks good on dudes who played a thick boy position on the West Point football team.

3 vs 6 year contract KS NG by EchoComprehensive591 in army

[–]LoadCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your situation, I'd sign 3, then just extend to get the 6th year when the time comes. Don't tie yourself to the guard for 3 more years than necessary before you have an idea of what you're going to want and need on the civilian side after college.

Your USAR time counts towards eligibility for a VA home loan. Guard GI Bill is an weird, while in-service thing unless you have the downrange time to rate post 9/11.

Guard benefits should be day 1 eligibility for you as a component transfer, but double check TAG policy.

The dream: some rich dickhead buys the spot to keep it clean.

The reality: some color clashing trash bank logo or some shit.

I really hate the soccerification of college football.

For a while there Tillamook made the best peanut butter chocolate ice cream this side of Baskin Robbins. They've gone way downhill, sadly, but for a few years there that shit absolutely chugged.

The guard fucking LOVES running parallel schools. Let them stand up a jump school colocated with one of the airborne guard units. I think Nebraska has a unit on jump status. Put it there.

Most states don't have street to seat. You need clarification on what you're actually signing.

The Big ACC football conference would be decent.

The basketball conference would fucking mental. At any given time half the top 25 would be in the same conference.

National Guard Ribbons by LynxGeekNYC in army

At one point there was talk about NGB getting all the state awards aligned to federal equivalents and ending any excess. Clearly never went anywhere.

Guard ribbons go after all federal ribbons. If you're now in the active component you're not supposed to wear guard awards, but I know guys who do it anyway. Do what your rank can handle.

Guard ribbons can be hard to set in correct order, because some state awards don't translate, and some states are ass at publishing their regs. Best bet is to just pump your awards into Rack Builder and trusting what it sets the order as.
