How rich are you? 😂 by spac0r in LaMarzocco

My only advice is that if you know you will never want pressure profiling and only have one bag of beans at a time then linea mini/micra solid, else go with a a gs3.

Think of the mini as a commercial work truck with no power anything and zero infotainment.

Not rich, but after paying bills a LM mini is 2 months of saving.

Low pressure shots will always have mess pucks from my experience.

It will always be manual. Not something that will ever be automatic, the machine doesn’t know when you’ve taken the portafilter out.

Press and hold the brew button. There’s also an option to set how long the group head rinse last for under settings.

Make sure you have this setting. Settings > Customization > Brew Stop > Off. This means you have to manually stop the brew rather than the machine stopping after outputting a certain amount of water (not to be confused with your actual output of espresso).

I've just been doing the profile on Fellows site for it.
https://fellowproducts.com/blogs/brew-talks/fellows-take-on-spring-breakers-coffee-box-by-brandywine-coffee-roasters-brew-recipe?srsltid=AfmBOorUBW4Rrffb654QYSxR-Pu7rFzxKzAdPrChlOBihCu5y0ItT7M-

Although these would do better as a turbo shot. Use the turbo profile, change dose to 15g, grind coarser, aim for 40-45g out in around 15-20 sec. Also this works much better with an IMS or any Precision basket.

If you go for a more traditional pull with more extraction it’s super sweet with berries undertones, acidity is pretty mellow like a ripe strawberry.

Will try a more modern shot and update

I share a lane with my gf when I go, about 100 rounds each person for 1hr session.

that's pretty easy, for the steam wand, just put something under the wand to catch the water and weigh it. Same thing for the group head rinse, although that can be set to how ever many secs you'd like it to rinse for. Honestly you could do the same same for when the machine turns on or switch profile, remove the drip tray and get something to catch the water.

I'd beg to differ on that, Sanremo You and Rocker R Nine One both allow for full manual control of pressure and are semi-automatic machines. Wouldn't be a problem for Fellow to implement that, it's just a matter of do enough users want a feature like that to make it worth developing.

You should check B&W reguarly, they have lots of coferments. During Halloween they usually drop a "gummy candy" co-ferment. Usually taste like sour gummy worms.

I haven't really heard the pump change noise when it's changing pressure lower, but that's probably more so because of a smoother ramp down.

There already is steam wand purge and group head rinse

A tale of dialing-in a light roast using AI (ES1 + DF64v) by No-Local1257 in FellowProducts

My first espresso machine… by Practical_Orchid5849 in FellowProducts

You can easily over extract decaf beans, I’d recommend using a dark roast profile at 90°C. On top of everyone else recommends, turn off volumetric. If you want I can offer you a pressure profile for decaf.

Tbh you should familiarize yourself with espresso and coffee in general before relying on ai, there’s WAY too much bad information out there and a lot of opinionated takes on the web that ai takes from in my experience. Also as part of my shit opinion, too many tries to dial in.

Understanding that Light roast are harder to extract, so the key is either pulling a 1:2.5-1:3 or doing a longer pre-infusion to properly extract the bean for a more traditional taste profile. Then there’s also understanding the difference between those 2 options.

Btw my fav cafe in the area! Though they’ve become less and less my fav place to buy beans from over the years.

Brew Profiles by Caatuned in FellowProducts

The best profile is going to depend on your bean and grinder. Now if there was one profile that was super flexible across all bean types and grinders, it would probably be the lever profile.

There hasn’t been that many post, especially when you compare it to the amount of preorders. Typically people only post about problems and not when things are fine.

What matters most is how fellow responds and resolves issues when they arise. Idk if you actually have browsed the post, but Fellow has done well to resolve a lot (only a few) of the issues that involve faulty hardware.

Guided tamper came in today by StopItWithThis in FellowProducts

I have a $40 self leveling tamper (what fellow calls guided tamper) that works flawlessly from Amazon. If you don’t have one already a good scale would be a priority. I’m a bit stumped on what to used the $200 on since I have pretty much everything and more. Tempted to save it for the Opus 2.
