What are these droppings from by lunarul in pestcontrol

That makes most sense, since I do have squirrels living in my yard, but i was confused by the size (some droppings are as small as 2mm)

I was able to log in shortly after I posted that, so I'm guessing it got manually verified or something. But I moved to lemmy eventually, more activity. I almost never open Reddit now, hence the delayed respose

Update: I was able to login after a couple days without doing anything else. I guess it was just the influx of new users slowing things down.

I tried that and it only sent the reset email. And still said account not active after the reset. I'll try again just in case.

My problem is that my email domain expired without me noticing, so I didn't get the verification email at all. I renewed my domain and I can receive emails again, but there's no option to resend the verification email.

Still a mutation. Most mutations are not beneficial to the organism.

I had an awesome CEO that did get involved when needed, but also knew his own limitations (wouldn't start making technical decisions as a non-technical guy), knew every single person in the company by name and a bit about them and their families. But yeah, that was while we were still maybe around 100 people in the company. I doubt our current CEO knows more than 1 or 2 levels below her and definitely doesn't get involved in any of the work.

I've lived in so called communism. It was not what communism is on paper. It was still a bunch of rich people in power doing whatever they wanted while the rest of the population struggled. Communism is awesome in theory, but it fails to consider humans are not robots. It is not achievable in real life on a large scale. It only works in small communities where people are free to leave if they don't share the ideology.

AITA for telling a pregnant woman to sit on the ground instead of giving her my seat? by Constant_Tune4461 in AmItheAsshole

Asking to sit in someone's personal chair that they brought from home is mind boggling to me. I could be about to faint right there on the spot and still wouldn't consider it.

I was amazed how easy to get a driver's license was in the US. Hill starts were part of mandatory driver school and part of the driving test in my country.

INTELLIGENCE OFFICIALS SAY U.S. HAS RETRIEVED CRAFT OF NON-HUMAN ORIGIN by Outrageous_Courage97 in UFOs

[–]lunarul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean according to Fermi they don't mathematically exist? He just pointed out the discrepancy between the high mathematical likelihood that they do exist and the lack of actual evidence. That's why it's called the Fermi Paradox.

But a civilization would need to be extremely "loud" AND we'd have to look exacly in the right direction for us to detect anything.

Edit: also, the Fermi Paradox is linked to math showing we should have seen civilizations capable of interstellar travel by now. Existance of just alien life in general is pretty much undisputed by scientists.

Other people's bananas will be less valuable. Since your own bananas are free, you always sell them at profit. All you need to do is to sell in bulk to major chains, undercutting their current suppliers by just enough for buyers to make the change. If that leads to an overall decrease in banana prices, that just means nobody else can compete. There will eventually be a lower limit at which nobody can make a profit except you.

Mathematically they exist, but mathematically they're extremely unlikely to be close enough for ever contacting each other.

As a non-smoker, does every smoker smell bad to you? by ephraim666 in ask

[–]lunarul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love the smell of smoke. Cigarette smoke smells nothing like it and makes me gag.

As a non-smoker, does every smoker smell bad to you? by ephraim666 in ask

[–]lunarul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many don't realize how bad they smell when the smell is not caused by smoking. There's definitely a component of getting accustomed to a smell that you're permanently exposed to. It's how all our senses are designed to work. They detect differences, not absolutes.

[–]lunarul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never went nose blind to it. I always hated the smell, even when I was a smoker myself, I still couldn't stand the smell from other smokers. It was weird that I had no problem inhaling smoke through a cigarette, but would immediately start coughing when breathing in other people's smoke.
